Vergil Ortiz Jr continues to fight for a world title and will defend his interim WBC super welterweight title against Erickson Lubin on Saturday at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
Oscar De La Hoya’s Golden Boy promotes the Ortiz Jr vs Lubin match, and DAZN broadcasts live worldwide.
Ortiz (23-0, 21 KO) had a busy 2024 after more than a year off. He defeated Fredrick Lawson and Thomas Dulorme in each round, maintaining his perfect knockout record.
The Texan, who has been linked to a fight with Jaron Ennis, last August went 12 rounds for the first time as a professional and had to leave the ring twice before winning by majority decision over Serhii Bohachuk in Las Vegas and winning the interim WBC crown.
The 27-year-old did not play for the last time in February, when he was tested again and had to cover the distance again. winning on the cards against Israil Madrimov in Riyadh.

Safar meets Miller
Swedish cruiserweight Robin Sirwan Safar (18-0, 13 KO) is undefeated and should defeat Derick Miller Jr (18-0, 10 KO) in a 10-round fight.
Undercard remaining
Amari Jones (14-0, 12 KO) can achieve another victory in a 10-round middleweight fight, this time against Shady Gamhour (14-2, 9 KO)
The only fighter to go eight rounds should see Eric Priest (16-0, 8 KO) as the early winner of his middleweight fight against Esneiker Correa (16-6-2, 14 KO).
Heavyweight newcomer Joshua Edwards (4-0, 4 KO) should have already won the scheduled six-round fight with Zeno Vooris (5-1, 5 KO).

In the remaining six rounds of fights, Figo Ramirez Gonzalez (9-0-1, 4 KO) can defeat Oziel Rangel Aradillas (6-4, 4 KO) in the super bantamweight division, and Javier Meza (4-0, 2 KO) can win at the distance against Joshua Briones Garcia (3-4-1, 2 KO) in the super lightweight division.
In a four-round welterweight fight, Samuel Torres (3-0, 2 KO) should stop Ricardo Elizalde (0-1).
Jaron Ennis is the bookmakers’ main favorite to defeat Xander Zayas in their highly anticipated world title clash on Saturday in Brooklyn.

On Wednesday, Lewis Crocker heads to Australia to defend his IBF welterweight world title against Liam Paro for the first time.
Crocker will face Paro at the Pat Rafter Arena in Queensland, live on DAZN in the UK and Kayo Sports in Australia.
Crocker (22-0, 11 KO) became world champion in September, defeating Paddy Donovan twice before winning the rematch by split decision.
Man from Belfast recorded his second victory over Donovan after the first victory in March last year, and his rival was disqualified for hitting him after the bell.
Paro (27-1, 16 KO) is trying to become a world champion in two weight categories, having previously reigned in the super-lightweight division.

The 30-year-old won the title with a unanimous decision victory over Subriel Matias in Puerto Rico before winning the belt in his first defense against Richardson Hitchins.

Heavyweight Demsey McKean will look to continue his rebuild when he faces Liam Talivaa for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific title.
McKean (24-2, 16 KO) had his career cut miniature after a last-round loss to Filip Hrgovic, followed by a brutal first-round loss to Moses Itauma.
