Tyson Fury’s father apologizes after threatening to headbutt the BBC commentator

John Fury, Tyson Fury’s father, has apologized after threatening to punch a BBC commentator during a news conference about his son’s comeback this week. Fury Snr has expressed his contempt for Carl Froch, accusing the former super middleweight world champion of showing disrespect.
Shortly afterwards he met BBC boxing reporter Steve Bunce in the corridor and Fury questioned the way he was looking at him. Turning to Bunce, he remarked, “What are you looking at? Don’t look at me or I’ll punch your head right in the fucking nose.”
“I think Netflix can’t even hire Carl Froch and bring him there, knowing how much friction he causes. And I hate Fury, I hate Tyson, I hate the Fury family. I don’t know why he was there. That’s Netflix’s choice, not mine.”
Bunce, trying to keep it a secret, replied, “I’m your friend, John.” To which Fury, furious at this point, said, “You’re not my f***ing friend.”
An apology from Fury has since emerged, in which the 60-year-old said: “I’m sorry, Steve. I got out of control, I got carried away, there were people winding me up, internet trolls and stuff like that.
“Sometimes we are all human, we have feelings and it can get to you, especially with a man like me. It breaks my heart. I watched it back. Where was I? Emotions were high when people wouldn’t leave you alone, pestering you all the time, 24 hours a day, thinking they were going to get paid.”
“But again, Steve Bunce, I want to apologize to you, you’re my friend, emotions are running high and I’m truly sorry, man. I’m ashamed of my behavior towards you, I really am. I hope you accept my apology, Steve.”

“I wasn’t myself, as you can see. When you’re in fight mode, you’re in fight mode, right. It’s the fighting business, it’s the fighting game, don’t take it too personally, my buddy, God bless you, Steve, I’ll buy you a pint, shake your hand and apologize in person. Sorry again, buddy.”
However, Froch was less restrained in his response, saying: “Great John Fury, the warrior. Show some respect to your name. Show some respect to your name. Grow a set of knackers. You said you know you fear no one but God.”
“So go to the gym, throw some punches and start feeling good about yourself. Talk to me and Mams Taylor and you can do it, we can do it. And I’ll be forthright, I’m taking my time with you. I’m going to pepper you with a few jabs. I’m going to hit you with some right hands to the body. And when you fall on the floor, I’m going to lend a hand you up, because that’s what’s going to happen. It’s going to be embarrassing.”
“You just embarrass yourself there and you will embarrass yourself again. You need to stop doing this. Tyson Fury doesn’t need you and your large mouth, running around, screaming and swearing, being idiots in public.”

Jaron Ennis is the bookmakers’ main favorite to defeat Xander Zayas in their highly anticipated world title clash on Saturday in Brooklyn.
Ennis challenges Zayas for the WBO and WBA super welterweight belts at the Barclays Center live on DAZN pay-per-view.
The undefeated resident of Philadelphia enters the game as the favorite on February 11 Bet365 give the 23-year-old his first professional defeat and become world champion in two weight categories.
“Boots” has stopped 31 of his 35 opponents, including Uisma Lima in his 154-pound debut in October, and is expected to stop the Puerto Rican on 20/21.

On Wednesday, Lewis Crocker heads to Australia to defend his IBF welterweight world title against Liam Paro for the first time.
Crocker will face Paro at the Pat Rafter Arena in Queensland, live on DAZN in the UK and Kayo Sports in Australia.
Crocker (22-0, 11 KO) became world champion in September, defeating Paddy Donovan twice before winning the rematch by split decision.
Man from Belfast recorded his second victory over Donovan after the first victory in March last year, and his rival was disqualified for hitting him after the bell.
Paro (27-1, 16 KO) is trying to become a world champion in two weight categories, having previously reigned in the super-lightweight division.
The 30-year-old won the title with a unanimous decision victory over Subriel Matias in Puerto Rico before winning the belt in his first defense against Richardson Hitchins.
The Australian has since won twice, overtaking David Papot in his last appearance in September.
McKean meets Taliva
Heavyweight Demsey McKean will look to continue his rebuild when he faces Liam Talivaa for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific title.
McKean (24-2, 16 KO) had his career cut miniature after a last-round loss to Filip Hrgovic, followed by a brutal first-round loss to Moses Itauma.
