Tony Bellew predicted the Joseph Parker vs. Fabio Wardley fight.
Former world champion Bellew believes Parker’s boxing experience could give him an advantage over Wardley.
Both pairs will meet tonight at the O2 Arena in London.
Bellew talked to Football blog: “I think Joseph Parker will be too robust tonight. Don’t get me wrong, I said earlier, of course Fabio has a chance to punch, but believe me, he won’t win at any stage of this fight.”
Wardley last saw action in June at his home club’s home ground, Portman Road, against the technically gifted Justis Huni.
A truly tough fight for the Briton saw him lose almost every round, being outplayed and often pushed down the ropes.
In the tenth round, Wardley landed his trademark right hand, stopping Huni after many had written him off.
Promoter Frank Warren compared Wardley’s knockout power to Deontay Wilder, who once dominated the heavyweight division.
Bellew believes Wardley could once again find himself well down the leaderboard from the more technical Parker.
“He’s going to lose round by round because Joseph Parker just knows a little too much and I think he’s too shrewd and I think it’s going to be a points win, maybe even a overdue break with Joseph Parker, because he hits harder than people think.”
Parker has stopped 24 of his opponents and most recently knocked out hazardous heavyweight Martin Bakole in quick succession in February.
Since his loss to Joe Joyce in 2022, the 36-year-old has turned his career around, scoring large wins over Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang in 2023 to win the WBO interim title.
It seemed that the Novel Zealander would have a chance at the undisputed title July after Oleksandr Usyk stopped Daniel Dubois and won all the heavyweight belts for the second time.
It was ordered as the next mandatory defense of the 38-year-old’s belts, but after an injury was picked up in his last fight, he was granted an extension before negotiations had to take place to fight Parker.
Instead of waiting for the extension to end, Parker returns against the hazardous Wardley, looking to get closer to becoming a two-time world heavyweight champion.

Bam Rodriguez is closing in on one weight class for undisputed super bantamweight champion Inoue when he fights Antonio Vargas for the WBA bantamweight world title on Saturday in Arizona live on DAZN.
A meeting between the pair would pit two true pound-for-pound superstars against each other, and the Texan believes the clash will definitely happen, with Ring magazine owner Turki Alalshikh already expressing interest in promoting the fight.
“I know that when this Inoue fight happens, the fans will be in for a great night of boxing,” the 26-year-old said Ring Magazine.
“People are already talking so much about this fight that it is inevitable at this point.
“And I feel like when the time comes, it will be a great fight, probably one of the best in boxing history.”
Inoue retained his undisputed crown thanks to A unanimous decision victory over Japanese rival Junto Nakatani last month.
Bam is the current unified super flyweight world champion and is expected to return to 115 pounds to challenge Andrew Moloney for the undisputed title.
The Texan admits he would like to join forces with WBC bantamweight champion Takuma Inoue, Inoue’s younger brother, if he defeats Vargas at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale.
“I think that’s the perfect storyline for this fight,” he said.
“Beating up a brother [WBC bantamweight champion Takuma Inoue] First.
“I think it’s almost the perfect storyline for Inoue’s fight, where he first beats his brother and then fights the other brother.”
Bam, who is the overwhelming favorite among bookmakers, is fighting for the first time since the unification of the super flyweight division following a 10th-round knockout of Fernando Martinez in November in Riyad.
Vargas first defended his WBA belt last July, but lost to Daigo Higa.

Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez looks to make more history as he moves up to bantamweight to face WBA champion Antonio Vargas on Saturday in Arizona.
Bam Rodriguez (23-0, 16 KO) will face Vargas (19-1-1, 11 KO) at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale.
The two-division world champion wants to conquer a third weight class, having already won the flyweight and super flyweight world titles.
The 26-year-old Texan united the division with: Knockout of Fernando Martinez in the 10th round in November.
“Bam” is expected to return to 115 pounds to challenge Andrew Moloney for the undisputed crown later this year and then face undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue.
Vargas defended his WBA bantamweight crown in July, although he drew with Daigo Higa.
