Anthony Joshua will bring a significant numerical advantage to the ring against Jake Paul – but what is the real difference?
Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua will fight Paul on December 19 in Miami.
They confirmed that this is not an exhibition. The rules will be normal for heavyweight boxing competitions.
Former YouTuber Paul moves from his usual cruiserweight home to a higher division to face Joshua, who has been one of the greatest of his heavyweight peers throughout his era.
Joshua’s most recent weigh-in was for his fight with Daniel Dubois at 252 pounds.
Meanwhile, Paul weighed 227 pounds when he faced the aging Mike Tyson in a heavyweight fight.
The Tyson fight was the only fight in which Paul weighed more than the cruiserweight limit of 200 pounds.

Height difference
Paul is also Joshua’s lowest opponent in a decade. The American is 180 cm lofty, which is five inches shorter than the Briton.
You have to go back 11 years and 22 fights to remember Michael Sprott, an opponent who was 180 cm lofty. Sprott lasted less than one round.
Those who believe in Paul’s abilities can point to some of Joshua’s lesser opponents in recent years.
Ruiz Jr. He was 6-foot-10 and stunned Joshua in Up-to-date York, then beat him in the rematch. Carlos Takam, measuring 180 cm lofty, was a tough nut to crack, and more recently, Jermaine Franklin, measuring 180 cm lofty, heard the final bell against Joshua.
Meanwhile, Joshua is the tallest opponent Paul has fought by a considerable difference of four inches.
The 6-foot-10 Anderson Silva was defeated by Paul three years ago, but spent all of the UFC hype fighting at 185 pounds – about 70 pounds lighter than Joshua.
But Gervonta Davis…
Interestingly, Paul was scheduled to fight Gervonta Davis on November 14 before the fight was canceled.
An undefeated three-weight world champion, Davis is five-foot-six and last weighed 135 pounds.
This means Paul has increased his opponent’s size by a staggering one foot and 120 pounds, a jump of seven weight classes.
