Marquis Taylor wins the first victory under the direction of Shawn Porter

The growing pretender Marquis “The 0 Snatcher” Taylor (18-1-2, 3 KO) defeated early knocking down to overtake Ivan Pandzic (15-3-1, 9 KO) on Friday evening, winning a one-man victory in the Red Owl frame (98-91 on all three cards) and successfully defending his Nabf Middleight. Dazn from the “Owl nest” in Houston.
After a powerful start in the first two rounds, 31-year-old Taylor, who is already trained by the former double owner of the title 147-pound and boxing commentator Red Owl “Showtime” Shawn Porter, was caught with his right hand and dropped by 33-year-old Pandzic. This meant the first time Taylor was knocked down in his professional career.
The Houston from Houston quickly reflected, and the history of the fight, which repeated the commentator and the former claimant for the title of the world of Paulie Malignaggi, was Taylor’s ability to throw the first and his ability to dictate the fight pace because of the constant pressure she had made.
“He did great,” Taylor said about the debut of Porter as a trainer. “He maintained mastery as a trainer. He didn’t panic. Nothing. When something went wrong, he kept placid. He kept my peace and just said what I had to do, and I did it and it worked. “
Inside, Taylor was able to make him gritty and unequal fight in which he was able to land more significant blows, while Pandzic seemed to have difficulty maintaining a lasting attack during the fight.
“I’m always looking for me, does the warrior weigh? Does the warrior lose their mastery? He never did that – said porter in the ring after the fight. “He listened to me until the last round.
“We have a little way and I can’t wait for travel,” added Porter.
With a total of six -sided wins and three more in 2024, Taylor, who confirmed WBC earlier this week, will be raised to the first 15 years with 160 pounds with victory on Pandzice, wants to continue its swelling in 2025 and has monuments at a meeting with Austin “Ammi” Williams.
“As a warrior, we always want to fight the most, but I’m not going to lie. I want Austin “Ammo” Williams, then, said Taylor. “Let’s go. I want him next.
“I want my shot,” he added. “Let’s go. I think it should be my next fight. I think it’s a perfect fight for both of us. “
During the newfangled event, Oscar “El Chato” Perez (12-0-2, 7 KO) remained invincible, winning a unanimous decision victory (78-74, 79-73 x2) over Cristian Medina (8-2-1, 5 KO) in the corner in the eighth round.
For two rounds, Perez was a much more vigorous warrior, throwing the volume and landing to the body with a little in exchange from Medina. However, in what turned out to be full of action the third round, the medina came alive, landing on some significant mountains, when both men traded in blows.
In the fourth round, 24-year-old Perez, Southpaw from Houston, picked him up a little, throwing more than “Vikingo” and landing a powerful hook except for bodies.
The second half of the fight turned out to be the same as Medina, the 24-year-old Mexican, he was still pressing forward and exerted pressure, tiring Perez and landing while throwing, but not throwing enough to have a significant influence. Perez, though tired, served as more vigorous of them in terms of thrown blows, using his movement to defend against pressure and stirring his arrows to get points.
In the last round, both warriors left it all in the ring, exchanging arrows with the landing of both men. In the end, however, Perez became a nod of the ring’s judges, winning the fourth win in 2024.
Also on the main card, 24-year-old from Houston Bre’yon “Grindtime” Gorham (18-0, 15 KO) expanded his professional record to the perfect 18-0, winning a cruel victory in the third round on Alan Ayal (11-5, 7 KO).
After the third performance in the “Owl nest” in 2024, Gorham, who left the victory at the stop on Luis Manuel Baltazar at the Boxfest party in May, began quickly, using his speed and athleticism to set the tempo, while mixing powerful sounds with powerful shots in the head and body.
In the third round, the growing 140-punting perspective put a stamp on an impressive performance, landing in a brutal upper left corner, which sent Ayala to the canvas, forcing the judge to stop the fight without counting and handing Gorham another victory in space, when he is still climbing the ranks.
“I just stick to the game plan, as my coach said,” Gorham said in the ring after the fight. “Work on one [and] Closing the distance. He told me the last time to close the distance, and it opened it perfectly.
“To continue progress and be better”, he added Gorham about his plans at 2025. “Entering a ladder and better in the gym, listen to trainers. These are great plans for 2025. We have just signed a contract with OTX. We will do a story together, aged. “
Earlier in Dazna, Giovanni Marquez (12-0, 6 KO), he won a tough, but one-sided unanimous victory of the decision (80-72 x2, 79-73) over Cristian Dominguze (13-7, 6 KO) in an eight round of 140 pounds, maintaining your undefined professional record.
“Today we fought with a strenuous, uneven guy who is very sturdy,” said Marquez in the ring after the fight. “He was never detained and I had to show that I could box. I have skills and we usually see how I throw away men, but today I felt my versatility and boxing skills. “
In 23-year-old Marquez, son of the former world champion Raul Marquez, dominated the early part of the fight, dominated in “The Secret the Secret the Secret Bronie”, dominated in “The Secret the Secret Bronie”, dominated “secret weapons”, establishing his stab and stirring his attack on the head and body.
However, it was in the sixth round of the fight, when Marquez had its best moment, landing with a cruel left hook set by the upper right ass, which hurt a 33-year-old Dominguz. Together with the opponent on the ropes, Marquez unloaded with a wave of gigantic shots, but as he did through the whole fight, Dominguez remained elastic, withstanding the attack and reached the end of the round.
The last two rounds of the fight were relatively competitive, although Marquez landed with more significant arrows when he came to a unanimous victory in the decision.
After a successful 2024 campaign, which made him pass 4-0, Marquez now has its monuments on major challenges in 2025.
“In 2025 I am looking forward to the wonderful year,” he said. “This year we went 4-0, we fought a lot in my hometown and I hope that I will fight in my hometown next year, here in Red Owl. Shout Red Owl and Gabriel Finious. Shout my promoter, overtime and next year, I want to raise competition and show when the competition is growing, just like my performances. Kurt Scoby – this is a fight to be done next year. “
Opening the main card to Dazna, the rapidly developing 19-year perspective Troy “The Bank” Nash, Jr. (3-0, 1 KO) did a quick work of David de Leon (0-1), abandoning a 30-year-old, then scored a victory in the second round in his return to the “Owl nest”.
After a leisurely start of the opening round of Nash, a 15-time national champion as an amateur, he began to lift it, off de leon with a bodily shot and landing a few powerful shots in the head when the round was over.
In the second round of Nash from Colorado he got up where he finished, dropping De Leon, who made his debut in a professional shot. De Leon barely defeated the count and it was clear that the end was close, because the “bank” landed on his head a left hook, which once again sent De Leon on canvas and forced judge Alejandro Leon to stop the action.
“It was a great excitement,” said Nash in the ring after the fight. “My first in professionals – get my first stop. I loved the crowd of Houston – everyone here cheers me and everything. It was a great experience. “

Oscar Collazo remained undefeated and won the WBO International flyweight title on Saturday night with a devastating two-round victory over Neider Valdez.
The unified WBA, WBO and Ring Magazine minimumweight champion improved to 15-0 with 12 knockouts after defeating Valdez three times before Mexico’s corner stopped the fight at 2:35 of the second round.
Making his final appearance at 112 pounds, Collazo showed his strength immediately transferred to the upper division, defeating Valdez from the opening bell at Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, California.
The Puerto Rican striker repeatedly found a home for his left hand and left no doubt about the outcome before the fight was called off.
“I felt great at 112 pounds. I love this division. In fact, I want to stay here for a long time,” Collazo said.
Knockdowns
Collazo admitted that he had already called for the fight to be stopped.
“After the third knockdown I was basically saying, ‘Never again, never again’. It was the right decision for his safety. His corner was well checked.
The victory added another belt to Collazo’s collection and enhanced his growing reputation as one of boxing’s most invigorating champions in the lower weight division.
Looking ahead, Collazo has made it clear who he wants next.
“The fight with Ricardo Sandoval definitely interests me. I really want that fight. I’m ready for gigantic fights. I’m ready to make history. That’s the fight I want next.”
Sandoval currently holds the WBA flyweight title, making this one of the most attractive fights available if Collazo continues his climb in weight.
The event was broadcast live on DAZN and was promoted by Golden Boy Promotions in partnership with Miguel Cotto Promotions.
