Two fighters chasing the same World Title picture arrive from opposite ends of momentum.

Nontachai Jitmuangnon meets Kiamran Nabati in a pivotal bantamweight Muay Thai clash at ONE Fight Night 46 on Friday, August 14. The card airs live in U.S. primetime from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The 27-year-old Thai has quietly built the best stretch of his ONE Championship career. Exactly a year ago, he suffered a quick knockout loss to Abdulla Dayakaev. The setback could have derailed his rise.

Instead, Nontachai responded by returning to the win column against Soner Sen, then battering Semih Sah Cindir with three knockdowns before a third-round TKO. Most recently, he defeated former two-time World Title challenger Felipe Lobo by unanimous decision at ONE Fight Night 43.

That win proved he could handle a seasoned name under the primetime spotlight. A victory over Nabati would give Nontachai back-to-back wins over two of the division's most respected names.

Standing across from Nontachai is one of the division's most dangerous strikers. Nabati arrived in ONE with a perfect 18-0 record and quickly proved his hype was real.

He picked up wins over Pongsiri PK Saenchai and Avatar PK Saenchai on the Friday Fights platform before knocking out Suablack Tor Pran49 in the first round to earn a six-figure contract. He then defeated former World Champion Nong-O Hama to cement his status as one of the division's most feared names.

This past May, Nabati finally met adversity, suffering a split-decision loss to Yod-IQ Or Pimolsri in the main event of The Inner Circle 15. Yod-IQ has since earned a World Title shot of his own, a fact that shows just how close Nabati had come to championship contention.

A statement win over Nontachai could move Nabati right back into that picture. On August 14, one of these two men will take a genuine step toward the World Title conversation.

Gable Steveson plans to be mentored by Jon Jones for the long haul, but that won't stop him from wanting some training sessions with Daniel Cormier.

When Steveson revealed he would be making the jump from freestyle wrestling to MMA, Jones offered his guidance to the Olympic gold medalist. Steveson gladly accepted, and he has gotten off to a strong 3-0 start. The number of wins grows to four if you including his 15-second knockout win over Billy Swanson, which was promoted by Dirty Boxing Championship.

Steveson appeared on MMA Junkie Radio, and he said that while he sees himself as a Jones lifer, he still wishes to train with Cormier at some point.

“I've always been with Jon,†Steveson said. “I would love to get some one-one-one training with DC. I mean, I've always told Jon that DC is a fantastic fighter, and he's one of my top two fighters of all time. I would enjoy a few classes with DC to learn how he processed fighting, how he managed from wrestling to come to fighting.

“I would love that. It would be an honor to be a part of a team with DC and have DC kind of guide me in the right direction, but I've been with Jon my whole short career right now, and I plan on keeping Jon forever. But I would love to have DC give me a few lessons.â€

Jones and Cormier had a heated rivalry during their fighting careers. Both men even brawled during a UFC 178 press event. The two ultimately had their first encounter at UFC 182 with Jones winning via unanimous decision. Their July 2017 rematch at UFC 214 saw “Bones†initially score a third-round head kick knockout, but the result was overturned due to a failed drug test.

“Bones†will be in full support of Steveson this Saturday at UFC 329. The former Olympian will be facing Elisha Ellison in his promotional debut. Steveson is a massive betting favorite over Ellison, who is coming off a first-round loss to Brando Pericic.

Conor McGregor and Max Holloway tipped the scales on Friday ahead of their UFC 329 clash, and their rematch is now official.

McGregor and Holloway both made the welterweight limit in “Sin City.†The Irishman weighed in at 170.5 pounds, while Holloway hit the 170-pound mark. That means that barring unforeseen circumstances at the last minute, McGregor vs. Holloway 2 will take place as planned on Saturday inside T-Mobile Arena.

This is a chance for McGregor to prove that what he truly believes will come to fruition. The “Notorious†one feels that spending five years away from the Octagon has worked in his favor since he is now a fresher fighter than before. McGregor also claims he has renewed focus in his life, and he vows to decimate Holloway.

“Blessed†will do all he can to wipe away the memory of his disappointing showing against Charles Oliveira back in March. While Holloway was hoping to retain the BMF Championship in style, he struggled with Oliveira's grappling for five rounds on his way to a unanimous decision loss. Holloway is searching for a vintage performance against his old adversary.

Aug. 17, 2013 was the date McGregor and Holloway first shared the Octagon. The two collided in the prelims of a UFC “Fight Night†card in Boston.  Despite suffering a torn ACL, McGregor powered through to earn a unanimous decision victory. Since that time, both men have become icons of MMA in their own way. McGregor ended up being the biggest star the sport has ever seen, while Holloway is a beloved fan favorite.
