Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua – results and post-fight report
Published
7 months agoon
A very clamorous clash between Jake Paul AND Anthony Joshua took longer than most expected, but the difference in size and experience was evident from the first bell. Still, Paul entered the fight with confidence, finishing the first round and signaling that he intended to prove that he could truly compete at Joshua’s level.
Joshua boxed conservatively in the first rounds, using stiff jabs and subtle footwork to control the distance. Paul had moments of success as he aggressively pushed forward, firing difficult shots from distance that sparked a reaction from the crowd, but Joshua’s defense and timing consistently undermined any sustained attacks. In the third round, Joshua began to focus on his punches, landing pristine right hands that clearly slowed Paul down.
Average rounds saw Anthony Joshua have full control. His punch selection became more varied, combining powerful body shots with edged uppercut combinations. Jake Paul he showed stamina and determination, continuing to push forward despite taking massive shots, but his performance declined as fatigue set in and he began to voluntarily buckle his knee under the pressure. Joshua never wavered his composure and consistently exploited mistakes in Paul’s defense.
The fight came to an end shortly afterwards, with Joshua forcing a stoppage after a sustained period of pressure that saw Paul suffer three knockdowns before the fight was called off. The result confirmed Joshua’s elite pedigree and experience at the highest level, while Paul was praised for venturing into uncharted and unsafe territory against a proven heavyweight.

The 30-year-old won the title with a unanimous decision victory over Subriel Matias in Puerto Rico before winning the belt in his first defense against Richardson Hitchins.
The Australian has since won twice, overtaking David Papot in his last appearance in September.

McKean meets Taliva
Heavyweight Demsey McKean will look to continue his rebuild when he faces Liam Talivaa for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific title.
