Erko Jun vs. rematch Mohamed Said Maalem set for BRAVE CF Slovenia Rematch Erko Jun vs. Mohamed Said Maalem set for the BRAVE CF game in Slovenia

Score to equalise. Title on the line. And division at the turning point.

The BRAVE Combat Federation has officially kicked off a thrilling rematch as reigning delicate heavyweight champion Erko Jun defends his title against No. 3 challenger Mohamed Said Maalem.

The high-stakes fight will take place on June 6 at Hala Tivoli in Ljubljana as part of BRAVE CF’s cooperation with World Freefight Challenge.

A rematch where everything is on the line

This isn’t just another title defense – it’s a direct sequel to their first meeting at BRAVE CF 81 in April 2024, where Jun scored a quick knockout.

However, both players insist that this version will be different.

“I’ve put a lot of work into every phase of this camp, perfecting every aspect of my game, from hitting inputs to defensive transitions,” Jun said.

“I’m not just defending my world title; I’m defending the standard I set in this division. On June 6, I’m going to impose my rhythm, control the distance and show that my evolution as a fighter has only made me more threatening.”

Said Maalem promises a different outcome

For Said Maalem, it is about redemption and rewriting the narrative.

“This is more than just a rematch for me; it’s a chance to make up for the past and prove that I belong to the top,” he said.

“I have studied every detail of our previous fight, adapted my approach and strengthened my ability to handle pressure in the pocket. When I step into the cage, I will not be the same fighter I fought before. I will be sharper, more composed and fully prepared to turn the fight around.”

Jun’s journey: from dual division ambitions back to domination

Jun returns to delicate heavyweight after a bold move at BRAVE CF 96, where he challenged Mohammad Fakhreddine for the middleweight title in pursuit of dual-division glory.

Previously, “The Bounty Hunter” had been on a devastating streak, highlighted by his title win at BRAVE CF 88, where he stopped Alexander Wesner to capture the vacant belt.

Jun, who has returned to his natural division, looks to consolidate his reign with another victory.

An experienced challenger with unfinished business

Said Maalem has been consistently working under the BRAVE banner since 2019, building a reputation as a strong and threatening finisher.

With the experience of winning a world title and multiple stoppage victories, “L’Ambiance” enters this five-round fight determined to finally win gold.

Another major intrigue: the heavyweight title is also on the line

Adding even more firepower, the BRAVE CF World Heavyweight Championship will be contested as reigning champion Pavel Dailidko faces top contender Miha Frlic.

Two titles are at stake, and the event in Slovenia is becoming one of the promotion’s most critical cards of the year.

Overall picture: a decisive evening for BRAVE CF

With international talent, a championship at stake and a sizzling rematch on June 6, he could change the shape of the delicate heavyweight division.

For Jun, it’s about proving dominance.
For Said Maalem, it’s about redemption.

And for fans, it’s MMA that’s a must-watch.

Conor McGregor once again fires shots at 'bum' Justin Gaethje: "Max Holloway put him face down, ass up"

Conor McGregor is continuing to take aim at Justin Gaethje.

McGregor has never been shy in sharing his thoughts on other fighters whether they're on his radar or not. The “Notorious†one is making his comeback fight in the welterweight division, yet he has shared some harsh words for the newly crowned UFC Lightweight Champion. The Irishman recently told UFC on Paramount that he thinks Gaethje is “woeful†inside the Octagon.

During a UFC 329 media day session, McGregor spoke to reporters and Gaethje's name was mentioned. “The Highlight†recently appeared on “The Jim Rome Show†to express his desire to punch McGregor in the face. Never one to hold his tongue, McGregor fired back (h/t MMAJunkie).

“Join the queue, join the queue. There's a few,†McGregor said. “Yeah, look, he has the lightweight belt, fair play to him. Holloway put him face down, ass up, though. Badly, badly face down. I'm not even thinking about it this time. Will I go down to lightweight again? Also is another thing I'm not so sure. I fancy the triple crown, so less of the disrespect, you f*cking bum.â€

The next move for Gaethje remains to be seen, but he told Joe Rogan that he doesn't see himself retiring just yet. He also doesn't believe he will have another fight for the rest of 2026.

McGregor will need to stay focused on Saturday night. He is set to have his first bout in five years when he meets Max Holloway inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. “Mystic Mac†and “Blessed†first collided back in 2013, which was long before either man reached their peak in the sport of MMA. McGregor won that fight via unanimous decision, but he suffered a torn ACL in the process.

Any chance we see Conor McGregor vs. Justin Gaethje before one or both men hang up the gloves? Chime in with your opinion in the comments below.

Robert
Whittaker acknowledges the “risk and threat†of moving up to
light heavyweight in the
Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Ahead of his fight with Nikita
Krylov at
UFC 329 on Saturday, July 11, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas,
Whittaker reflected on how power is among the most important
factors in the light heavyweight division, regardless of individual
skill level.

Robert Whittaker breaks down the dangers of light heavyweight
move

Whittaker, who has committed to a permanent move up to the light
heavyweight division, spoke about the challenging aspects of the
move ahead of UFC 329. The Australian highlighted that power is the
equalizer and that, irrespective of technical ability, almost all
strikes absorbed at 205 pounds will be damaging.

“You see, power is the ultimate equaliser, and I understand that,â€
the former UFC middleweight champion said in a recent interview. “I
understand that you don't… It doesn't matter how technical you are;
if you get hit hard by a heavy dude, it's going to hurt. So, I
understand the risk and the threat. That is the danger of moving up
to light heavyweight.â€

Nevertheless, Whittaker remains confident his skills will translate
to the heavier division.

“But I believe my skill set is champion level,†he added. “The
speed that I have, the physicality that I have, are at a champion
level, and I am going to bring them.â€

Whittaker is coming off back-to-back losses at middleweight, which
prompted the move. Krylov, his next opponent, is a seasoned veteran
and a natural 205-pounder. However, the Ukrainian-born Russian
isn't known for his power, relying on durability and grappling
skills instead.

Paddy Pimblett discusses the goalposts being moved after Justin Gaethje's UFC title win

UFC star Paddy Pimblett has spoken about the goalposts being moved after Justin Gaethje's huge UFC Freedom 250 triumph.

In the co-main event of UFC 329, Paddy Pimblett will attempt to vault himself back into contention for the UFC lightweight championship when he faces off against Benoit Saint Denis, someone who will also feel like he is on the verge of earning a crack at the gold.

At the start of the year, Pimblett fell short in his attempt to win the interim belt when he lost to Justin Gaethje, who proceeded to shock the world and defeat Ilia Topuria to become the undisputed king at 155 pounds.

In a recent pre-fight scrum, Pimblett had the following to say about the ever-changing narrative changes in MMA.

Pimblett reflects on battle with Gaethje

“I got wrote off after that,†Pimblett told MMA Junkie and other reporters at a pre-fight news conference Wednesday ahead of Saturday's event at T-Mobile Arena. “Everybody said I got beat by him, an old man. Then, he goes and does that to Ilia Topuria, and all of a sudden he's the best thing since sliced bread. This just shows how the goalposts get moved constantly.â€

“… I said that after I fought him. I got more respect losing a fight than I did winning seven in a row in the UFC. It just shows how mad our fanbase is, doesn't it?â€

“With him winning and becoming undisputed champion, it looks good for me. I said that after he beat me. I said he was going to beat Ilia Topuria. I said it was fate that he beat me. It was his destiny. He was going to win the world title at the White House. I was just in the way.â€
