Would Crawford have been undisputed if he had never paid for the WBC belt?

Terence Crawford defended him today, claiming he doesn’t need belts “prove” myself. For someone who doesn’t care about belts, he certainly made a massive fuss about being stripped of the WBC 168-pound title after charging the sanctioning body a $300,000 fee to win it.

You must OWN the belt

Crawford boasted that he had won the undisputed championship on September 13 after defeating a faded Canelo Alvarez. But he chose not to pay the WBC fee.

Since he never paid for the WBC title, it cannot be said that he was ever its legal owner. He didn’t finish the process. So in the true sense of the word, Crawford Never he won the undisputed championship and only won three belts. He is simply the undisputed champion of two divisions. To own belts, you have to pay for them, and he chose to forego that.

“Let’s be candid: the belt is just a trophy. It doesn’t make me me, it doesn’t define my legacy and it certainly doesn’t change what happened in that ring. History has already happened. The record is carved in stone,” Terence Crawford said on the show X Today.

“I am the belt. Fighters earn the belt. I don’t need it on the shelf to prove who I am. And anyone who has ever stood in front of me knows what ‘belt to a**’ really means.” Boxing is no place for politics,” Crawford said.

Terence’s resume is average. Chris Williams isn’t the only one who sees this. The entire fanbase was talking about the case. There’s nothing to see. Look at his CV under a microscope and this is what you get:

  • Errol Spence – after a car accident
  • Canelo Alvarez – faded and supported by matchmaking
  • Yuriorkis Gamboa – undersized and two divisions out of his weight class
  • Israil Madrimov – victory as close as a razor.

Apex Hunters he’s never fought

Bud’s biography seems unimpressive. His “waist to waist**” statement would have meant something if his career had included victories over top predators at 135, 140, 147, 154 and 168. Crawford never fought these talents:

  • Jaron Ennis
  • David Benavidez
  • Christian Mbilla
  • Lester Martinez
  • Vergil Ortiz Jr.

The Brit was dropped twice by massive underdog Prenga in the opening round of their clash in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, but ‘AJ’ managed to recover and record a big knockdown of his own in the second round that resulted in the stoppage victory.

It’s boxing, [the] big upper cut is good, it’s a knockdown. AJ [come] back and win.

Tony Bellew Reviews Anthony Joshua's Comeback Victory Over Kristian Prenga After Knockdown Drama

Anthony Joshua may have earned a knockout win over Kristian Prenga but the fight certainly didn’t unfold as most people expected.

Joshua was facing the Albanian in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, and it looked like a massive upset could be on the cards when he was dropped twice in the opening round.

‘AJ’ was able to recover and went on to secure a second round knockout victory to prevent the shock lossseemingly paving the way for the battle against Tyson Fury later this year.

One man who was ringside to witness the battle was former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellewand he praised Joshua’s ability to turn things around in the fight after describing it as ‘chaos’.

“We predicted round two but I don’t think we foresaw that. That was chaos. He doesn’t see the uppercut coming and finds himself on the floor without knowing how he got there.

“The second one he did see it coming and he was able to clench down on the jaw. He got up and then the experience that he has he used tonight because he tied him up. Against Andy Ruiz he didn’t know what he was doing and didn’t know how to do that, but tonight he did.

“He showed once again there is no quit. To be that hurt in the first round and get up, that’s the recoveries of power. People talk about your chin, but it’s not, it’s the level of fitness that gets you up from the floor.

“When Joshua gets a fighter hurt he’s the best finisher in the division. Whenever he hurts someone they’re gone. I haven’t seen him drop anybody and they survive, only Andy Ruiz. He’s a ruthless finisher.”

The clash between Joshua and Fury is now expected to be announced soon for later this year, after Fury won his own interim fight on Friday by defeating Mariusz Wach.
