Why Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua is likely to head to America

Las Vegas is the main candidate to host the long-awaited heavyweight clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
Fury and Joshua yes signed contracts to finally have their super fight that they had been working on for over a decade.
While both men are expected to earn around £100 million each, British fight fans will be left in for a long-awaited clash that is likely to land in the United States.
Earlier this week Athlete reported Las Vegas as the favorite to host the fight.
The British pair sold out Wembley Stadium multiple times against various opponents, and many felt the 90,000-seat national stadium would be the perfect venue for a final clash between two of the most recognizable British heavyweights of all time.
According to boxing experts, And Rafael the fight will likely end up across the pond with streaming giant Netflix, which will likely broadcast it, insisting it take place there.
“It seems most likely to be Las Vegas,” Rafael said Professional boxing fans.
“It’s not about everyone wanting to take this fight in Las Vegas, it’s about where Netflix wants to take this fight.
“And since Netflix pays the most to be the broadcaster, it has some influence over where the fight will take place.
“They think there’s just a bigger market of viewers in the United States.”
British fight fans wishing to see the fight live would not only have to spend thousands in travel and accommodation costs, but if they chose to watch it from home, the fight would likely be aimed at an American prime-time audience and would therefore start around 4am UK time.
“I think it will be an early morning fight for the British,” Rafael added.
“Set your alarm and get up at 5 a.m. or whenever you want.”
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn said the contract stipulated that the fight must take place in the UK and any location changes would have to be renegotiated.
On Sunday, Fury sparked rumors of Dana White joining Zuffa Boxing after appearing at the White House for UFC Freedom 250, although his manager Spencer Brown denied that any agreement had been reached with Zuffa and that he remains with Frank Warren.
The 37-year-old’s shock performance at the UFC event was his first appearance in America since his third victory over Deontay Wilder in 2021, with “The Gypsy King” reportedly banned due to his links to mob boss Daniel Kinahan, who was arrested in April.
White claimed he would promote the Fury vs. Joshua fight, despite both Hearn and Warren denying this.

However, on Thursday, Warren admitted that neither he nor Hearn could promote the fight on Netflix due to their exclusive deals with DAZN.
“We have an exclusive deal with DAZN for our fights in the UK,” said the 74-year-old talkSPORT.
“As for the Tyson vs. Joshua fight, it will be available on Netflix.

“So if the fight was in the UK and it was on Netflix, we wouldn’t be able to promote it anyway. The same goes for Eddie Hearn, he’s in the same situation.
“If you remember, Eddie, who is the promoter of “AJ,” his last fight was promoted by Jake Paul.”
Fury retired in April to beat Arslanbek Makhmudov and is looking forward to his next fight before facing “AJ.”
Joshua, 36, will fight for the first time since knocking out Jake Paul in December when he faces Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Saudi Arabia.

Joe Joyce says he would love a rematch with WBO heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois.
Joyce knocked out Dubois in the 10th round to become the 2020 British, Commonwealth and European Heavyweight Champion.
Despite three wins after overtime, the Londoner’s career was derailed after subsequent defeats against Zhilei Zhang.
Since losing to “Juggernaut,” Dubois has won two heavyweight titles and secured the WBO belt with a thrilling 11th-round victory over Fabio Wardley last month.
Joyce admits that a rematch on “Dynamite” would be attractive to him as he looks to catapult himself back into competition.
“It’s always an attractive option,” said the 40-year-old Heavenly sports.
“Before I took over for Zhang, which was obviously a bad decision, I was the interim WBO [champion] after defeating Dubois i [Joseph] Parker.
“So it’s kind of like a mistake that I’m going to fix now.”

“Juggernaut” looks set to bounce back from back-to-back losses to Derek Chisora and Filip Hrgovic when he faces undefeated Russian Artem Suslenkov on July 11 in Moscow.
Joyce has teamed up with Tyson Fury’s trainer, SugarHill Steward, and looks to secure his first win since 2024 by backing Murat Gassiev’s defense of his “regular” WBA heavyweight title against Tony Yoka.
“The motivation is to win, get back on the pitch and put in a dominant performance,” he added.

“I’ve made some changes, I’m training challenging and preparing for this fight.
“It’s just boxing.
“I’ve been training, I’ve been learning this year, I’ve put in a lot of work, so I’m ready to show you what I’ve learned.”

As for Dubois, the 28-year-old is set to rematch Wardley later this year over the Ipswich man activated the rematch clause.
“Dynamite” got up from the canvas twice, stopping the 31-year-old.
Dubois bounced back from losing the IBF crown to Oleksandr Usyk to become a two-time world heavyweight champion.

Frank Warren ‘cannot’ promote Fury vs Joshua on Netflix

It seems that Frank Warren has ruled out the possibility of being the main promoter of the Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua match.
Fury and Joshua have signed contracts to fight in the highly anticipated heavyweight battle later this year.
There is an ongoing discussion between Warren [Fury’s promoter], Eddie Hearn [Joshua’s promoter] and Zuffa Boxing boss Dana White on who will take over the promotional lead for the mega fight, which is being bankrolled by Saudi Arabian boxing boss Turki Alalshikh.
White claimed he would be in charge despite having no contracts with either man, while Hearn and Warren stated that the contracts excluded Zuffa from any involvement in the show.
However, Warren admitted that neither his company Queensberry nor Hearn’s Matchroom – which has exclusive broadcast deals with streaming service DAZN – can promote the fight, which is likely to end up on Netflix.
Fury made headlines over the weekend after attending UFC Freedom 250 at the White House, where he was photographed alongside White and US President Donald Trump.
The “Gypsy King” teased White’s announcement regarding his future, and the UFC boss said it would be announced soon.
But on Wednesday, Fury’s manager denied the deal with Zuffa, insisting that the 37-year-old was invited by Alalshikh, who worked with White to launch Zuffa.

Warren also assured that the two-time world heavyweight champion remains under contract with him.
“Tyson hasn’t signed a contract with anyone,” he added.
– I have a contract with him.
“I’m very, very cheerful with that, and our business relationship has been, and continues to be, good.
“I don’t have any problems.
Joshua will make his first return on July 25 against Kristian Prengi in Saudi Arabia.
Fury, who retired in April to defeat Arslanbek Makhmudov, intends to have another warm-up fight in August before finally facing “AJ” in November.
