On Monday, the California State Athletic Commission shared the fight night weights for all of the athletes on the card with MMA Fighting. The commission started tracking fight night weights in an effort to curb extreme weight cutting in combat sports.
At the top of the card, Rodrigues hit the scale at 185 pounds on Friday before packing on an additional 19.4 pounds to weight 204.4 pounds on fight night. As for Hernandez, he was 186 pounds on Friday before adding 16.2 pounds to weight 202.2 pounds for his fight.
Further down the card, Reinier de Ridder made his light heavyweight debut in the UFC after previously competing at 185 pounds in the promotion. On Friday, de Ridder hit the scale at 205 pounds exactly before adding 16.8 pounds to weigh 221.8 pounds for fight night.
His opponent Roman Dolidze was 206 pounds on Friday before adding 20.2 pounds to weigh 226.2 pounds for the fight on Saturday.
The biggest weight gain on the card came from Brazilian Marcio Barbosa, who weighed 145.5 pounds for his featherweight fight and he added a whopping 25.5 pounds to weigh 171 pounds for fight night. His opponent Ryan Kuse weighed 153.2 pounds on fight night, which means Barbosa outweighed him by nearly 20 pounds.

Jean Silva reveals has no memory of loss to Diego Lopes at Noche UFC last year

Jean Silva can't remember anything about his first foray at Noche UFC.
Last year, Silva had the first headlining event of his UFC career when he took on Diego Lopes at Noche UFC. Unfortunately for Silva, things didn't go his way as he got brutally finished in a Fight of the Year contender.
This past Saturday, Silva got some form of redemption, stopping Jose Miguel Delgado in the main event of Noche UFC in Glendale, Arizona. It was an important win for Silva, not just because of where it puts him in the featherweight division, but also because he had no recollection of his first UFC main event.
“Now I can open up and tell you what happened, because throughout this year, and throughout camp, and throughout fight week, even before the fight, as fight week progressed, I couldn't find myself to say this to my teammate,†Silva said through the translator at the Noche UFC post-fight press conference. “I actually pulled them aside in a corner before the fight tonight and told them, I don't have any memories of what happened at Noche UFC last year. It did take something away from me, and those were the memories.
“I told to people that it's sad, because I wanted the have the memory of my first main event, and I do not have any of that. I know that in world history, the books are going to say this was my second main event, but to me, it was the first. So I'm very happy that tonight I was able to make good memories, and I will remember.
“I know that we do things for the reward, for the victory, for history, but we also want to be able to tell stories. We want to be able to tell our kids, we want to be able to tell our friends, to share the experience, to say, first-person perspective, ‘I was there, and I did this, and I was part of that.' And unfortunately on that night I did not have that, and I have no memories of that day.â€
Silva certainly has much to remember from this Noche UFC. Not only did “Lord†win another Performance of the Night bonus, but the win put him right back in the title mix at 145 pounds, and could lead to another big fight, possibly a title eliminator bout against former bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling, who called for just that after Silva's win at UFC 334 in Madison Square Garden in November.
“As we like to say in Brazil, it's talk me up, talk me down, talk shit, hype me up, but talk about me,†Silva said about Sterling's comments. “Go ahead.â€

Arman Tsarukyan in do-or-die situation at UFC 331: ‘If I lose this fight, I’m never going to see a title fight’

Arman Tsarukyan was set up for a lightweight title shot back in January 2025 but a last minute back injury knocked him out of his fight against Islam Makhachev and he's never been afforded another shot at the belt as a result.
Now almost two years later, Tsarukyan is still the No. 1 contender at 155 pounds but instead of competing for gold at UFC 331, he's taking on Mauricio Ruffy in a fight that could potentially earn him that title fight opportunity. By all accounts, Tsarukyan has accepted his punishment for the injury that forced a last-minute change to a major card but he also believes it's win or go home on Sept. 19 if he ever hopes to compete for UFC gold.
“I'm taking Mauricio Ruffy as an opponent for my title fight,†Tsarukyan said on his YouTube channel. “Every fight for me is important. I give all of myself in [my] training camp.
“If I lose this fight, I'm never going to see a title fight. That's why I'm super motivated for this fight, super hungry. I've been working so hard for that moment.â€
Heading into UFC 331, Tsarukyan is heavily favored to win thanks to his dominant grappling game and suffocating wrestling attacks while going up against a fighter like Ruffy, who almost exclusively prefers to stand and strike with his opponents.
But Tsarukyan is no fool and he won't get drawn into a game where he's so determined to drag this fight to the ground and Ruffy suddenly finds an opening for one of his knockout strikes.
“I never underestimate him, especially his striking,†Tsarukyan said. “I've got to be so smart during the fight because he has a good punch, so he's knocked out a lot of people.
“Now it's my time. I have a good game plan. It's going to work very well. I'm not saying it's going to be an easy fight. It's going to be a hard fight but I get the victory.â€
Tsarukyan vs. Ruffy serves as the co-main event at UFC 331 on Sept. 19 with flyweight champion Joshua Van defending his belt agains former champion Alexandre Pantoja in the five-round main event.

Coach defends Ian Machado Garry for hugging Islam Makhachev at UFC 330, confident in rematch: ‘We’re going to have that belt next year’

Ian Machado Garry has faced criticism for the excessive hugging during his UFC 330 title fight in August, when he lost a decision to Islam Makhachev, but his head coach Diego Lima believes the hate is too much.
Lima was in Garry's corner in Philadelphia and told MMA Fighting he only paid attention to the hugs when it later became a topic of discussion.
“I swear I didn't notice it,†Lima said. “And I don't think the hugs influenced anything at all. Him greeting his opponent, honestly… Charles [Oliveira] does that too. Charles hugs everyone when the round ends, when the round starts. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it. That didn't change the outcome of the fight. Thank God, Ian is a family man, a respectful guy, extremely polite. If he wants to greet people more, let him greet people more. There's no problem with that.â€
That was the second time Makhachev has faced a fighter coached by Lima, the first being a lightweight title bout against Charles Oliveira, and Lima has nothing but great things to say about the welterweight champion.
“As much as he's our opponent, he's also an extremely respectful guy,†Lima said. “I like him as a human being. I also admire his work as a fighter. But even though we're opponents, he's a guy who always greets us whenever he sees us and gives us a hug.â€
Lima admits maybe Garry could have won the fight if he had been more aggressive inside the octagon, and that's a lesson learned for the future. He remains proud of what Garry was able to do against one of the most dominant champions in UFC history.
“Ian fought very well, and you saw both of their faces,†Lima said. “I think if we had been just a little more aggressive, we could have knocked him out. But at the same time, we knew we were facing the No. 1 guy. There's nothing you can say about Makhachev, he's an extremely tough guy.â€
“He really is a very tough, very good fighter, and the results speak for themselves,†he continued. “And Ian Garry came very close to winning this fight. That's why I really believe that in a rematch, Ian Garry can win. I'm not going to say that [Makhachev] isn't all that, because he is. He's very, very tough. But I think everyone saw it, and Makhachev himself saw it, how tough Ian is. I think if we had been a little more aggressive, we could have knocked him out. Because Ian, in my opinion, is one of the smartest fighters in the UFC. One of the highest fight IQs in the UFC. He adapts to everyone's game. He fought [Carlos] Prates, who is a nasty striker. He fought Makhachev, who is a nasty grappler, and he adapted to both styles. I really believe we're going to have that belt next year.â€
