UFC 331 live blog: Patricio Pitbull vs. Doo Ho Choi

This is the UFC 331 live blog for Patricio Pitbull vs. Doo Ho Choi, the main card featherweight bout Saturday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

A former two-division champion in Bellator, Pitbull (37-9) has seen mixed results since making his UFC debut in 2025. After losing a dull decision to Yair Rodriguez, he bounced back with a win over Dan Ige before returning to the loss column via decision to fellow former Bellator star Aaron Pico. At 39, this could be Pitbull's last chance to show he's still a world-title contender.

Choi (17-4-1) is surging on the back of consecutive knockout victories over Daniel Santos, Nate Landwehr, and Bill Algeo. “The Korean Superboy†has been involved in some of the UFC's best fights since joining the promotion in 2014, including his all-time classic battle against Cub Swanson at UFC 206 that later landed both fan favorites in the Hall of Fame.

Check out the UFC 331 live blog for Patricio Pitbull vs. Doo Ho Choi below.

Patricio Pitbull is the toughest test Doo Ho Choi has had in a while, so curious to see how much Pitbull has left and if Choi can actually make an earnest run to a top 10 spot. Great matchmaking here.

Mike Beltran on hand to oversee this matchup.

The taller Choi takes center, both guys looking to figure out the distance. Slow start here, like a lot of Pitbull fights. Choi with a nice short uppercut inside, Pitbull fires one to the body. He kicks the body and then lands an overhand right on Choi. Pitbull with another overhand right, he's a step ahead in this round. Choi with a quick combination, Pitbull continues to push forward, he's letting his hands go. Pitbull with a stiff jab. Choi working his jab now, he weathered the storm there.

Pitbull going body-head, mixing up his strikes well. Choi with an uppercut, he wants to make this ugly. Pitbull uncorks a right hand and Choi is ROCKED. He goes in for the kill, Choi covering up, Beltran has to step in for the stoppage. Wow!

Official result: Patricio Pitbull def. Doo Ho Choi via first-round KO (punches) (3:28)

Pitbull apologies for his past three fights, he says this is his real debut.

He has a call-out and it's none other than Jean Silva!

16-0 Farid Basharat confirms UFC exit after seven straight wins

16-0 Farid Basharat confirms UFC exit after seven straight wins
Farid
Basharat has addressed his departure from the
Ultimate Fighting Championship in a statement on social
media.

Basharat (16-0) completed his contract with a victory over John Garza
in July and wasn't offered a new deal despite going unbeaten in the
promotion. In his statement, Basharat reflected on his UFC tenure
and questioned the organization's direction.

Farid Basharat says the UFC never offered a new contract after
his unbeaten seven-fight run

Basharat went 7-0 in the UFC after earning a contract on
Dana White's Contender Series, with six of those victories
coming by decision. He confirmed his departure on Instagram, saying
he competed under unfavorable circumstances and never declined a
fight.

“The news is confirmed, I am no longer with the UFC,†Basharat
wrote on Instagram. “I've had an incredibly successful time in the
organization. I'm proud and happy with what I've accomplished
inside the Octagon. I leave with a stainless record. Holding the
longest active win streak in my weight division and the fourth
longest in the entire UFC. I feel I'm the best bantamweight in the
world. I always turned up and fought regardless of injuries and
weight deficits. And I always asked for the toughest opponent to
get me closer to the title.â€

While grateful for his time with the promotion and its staff,
Basharat questioned the UFC's direction and said he had not
received a contract offer since his last bout.

“But my departure clearly has nothing to do with my fighting
capabilities,†Basharat added. “Unfortunately, the organization
just isn't what it used to be. They're heading in a different
direction from what we all grew up loving. I want to clarify that
since my last fight, I was never offered a contract or an opponent;
I waited, but it never came. I've certainly never declined a fight
during my whole tenure.â€
