The announcement of the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua fight caused a stir around the world, and Tyson Fury and his father John Fury have different opinions on the course of this controversial fight.
Paul has yet to fight an busy heavyweight in his 13-fight career, and his lone appearance in the division came against 57-year-old Mike Tyson, who had not fought professionally for nearly two decades before their meeting last year.
Meanwhile, two-time heavyweight champion Joshua is not only a two-time champion of the division, but also the current challenger to the heavyweight throne, having fought Daniel Dubois for the IBF world title just last year.
However, despite the obvious gap in both experience and skill, Paul and Joshua will collide in what will undoubtedly be one of the most talked about fights on the calendar in just four weeks.
I’m talking to iFL TelevisionJohn Fury played down any chance of Paul dealing with the upset, suggesting the only way for the American to win was to agree on a foul in advance.
“Anthony, listen to me, don’t dive with that Jake Paul, buddy. Don’t do it, not for a billion dollars, buddy. Don’t do it. Don’t do it like everyone else. Don’t dive. If he fights, you’ll take him down like a blob and good luck.”
“Anthony Joshua could knock out Jake Paul with his dick.”
However, in an interview with Ring Magazine, Tyson Fury predicted a knockout win for “The Problem Child.”
“I don’t know about [it being a] after the tuning, I think Jake Paul will knock him out.”
“I think AJ is a spent force and I think Jake Paul is getting stronger. I like his novel look at heavyweight, he’s a little chubby, a little bulky, he’s getting there.”
Sebastian Fundora will return to action tonight, defending his WBC super welterweight title against Ermal Hadribaj in a main event that will air live on TNT as well as stream on DAZN.
Fundora has staked his claim as the top dog at 154 lbs right now, though there are other, potentially tougher challenges than Hadribeaj, but the challenger has his chance tonight, and he’ll look to make it count.
