Turki Alalshikh says Edgar Berlanga vs. Hamzah Sheeraz Super Middle Wweight “can change everything” and one of them will leave “with the belt” on July 12. Fans are confused, wondering what title Berlanga (23-118 KO) and Sheeraz (21-0-1, 17 KO) fight in their 12-round competition at the Louis Armstrong stadium in Queens, Novel York. Turki said this week that Sheeraz or Chris Eubank Jr. They will fight Canelo Alvarez in February next year.

Berlanga vs. Sheeraz belt doubt

Officially, Berlanga-Sheeraz is an eliminator of the WBC 168-LB world title to determine the mandatory for Master Canelo Alvarez. So, unless next month a less known belt was threatened, it is only the eliminator of the title. There are already many boxing fans who think that Berlanga and Hamzah do not deserve to get the chance to be the title of world champion.

The 168 pounds division was weakened by the departure of David Benavidez and David Morrell, when they moved to 175 in 2024. However, there are other fighters who deserve to be determined by the world shot without the operate of needy people, Berlanga and Sheerase.

Berlanga, 27 years vintage, lost last year to Canelo as a result of a skewed 12-round unanimous decision in September, and since then he fought only once, beating 35-year-old Jonathan Gonzalez-Portuz in March last year. It was not a good enough win for Edgar to set up on another crack in Canelo.

Sheeraz leaves the broadly criticized 12-round draw against Master WBC Medium weight Carlos Adames in February last year. He was worked out and overtook in this fight by Master Adames. Many people were shocked when the judges won him as a draw, because Adames won 11-1 in a unilateral competition.

Terence Crawford Declares One Current Fighter Unbeatable: "He Will Take Over"

Terence Crawford believes one man will follow in his footsteps and retire as an unbeaten world champion, essentially becoming a generational great in the process.

‘Bud’ became not only a world champion but a three-division undisputed king, ending his career with a legacy-defining unanimous decision triumph over Canelo Alvarez.

Even before that, Crawford was considered an elite pound-for-pound operator for over a decade, with many believing his most complete performance came against Errol Spence Jr in 2023.

But while the American is perhaps in a class of his own, he nonetheless believes that four-division world champion Shakur Stevenson can achieve a similar degree of success.

The 29-year-old claimed a career-best victory in January, losing just one round as he dethroned Teofimo Lopez with a masterful unanimous decision victory.

Having now signed with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing, though, it remains to be seen whether he defends his WBO super-lightweight title or pursues opportunities elsewhere.

Either way, Crawford has told Fight Hub TV that Stevenson has the mental and physical attributes to remain unbeaten at the highest level.

“I think Shakur [will take over]for sure, Shakur hands down. I think, given the opportunity, he’s going to show the world that he’s the best. His mental, his defense [sets him apart]takes his craft serious. He’s the type of the fighter that you gotta pull out the gym. [Is he beatable?] Not at all. Everybody [is] beatable, but I don’t see nobody beating him.”

Since inking a promotional deal with Zuffa, Stevenson has named Devin Haney and Gervonta Davis as two potential opponents who would cement his greatness.

The slick southpaw could therefore compete anywhere between lightweight and 147lbs, depending on which division offers the most realistic opportunities.
