Xander Zayas’s defensive fighting style will be tested tonight in his 12-round clash with the pressure fighter Jorge Garcia to get the free average WBO title at Madison Square Garden Theater in Fresh York.

Garcia threatens the undefeated Zayas record

Garcia (33-4, 26 KO) presents a massive test for Zayas (21-0, 13 KO) because he has talent, unlike 21 fighters with whom Xander was adapted by his promoters in the highest rank. Although Jorge Garcia is not near the top five 154 pounds in the division, it is still much better than the level of opposition, with which Zayas was matched in his six -year professional career.

Main Page: Zayas, Carrington, Vargas

  • Xander Zayas vs. Jorge Garcia Perez
  • Bruce Carrington vs. Mateus Heita
  • Emiliano Vargas vs. Alexander Espinosis

Preliminary card at 18:00 et on ESPN+

  • Juanita Lopez de Jesus vs. Jorge Gonzalez-Sanchez
  • Yan Santana vs. Aaron Alameda
  • Steven Navarro vs. Cristopher Rios
  • Julius Ballo vs. Brandan Ayala

Zayas star plan in Top Range

Today’s event will be the last for the highest rank with ESPN, because the company ends its transaction. Interestingly, the highest rank chose Zayas for the header against Garcia, and not a more proven warrior with a more fun, pleasant combat style.

This suggests that the desire to catapulting the Puerto Rican warrior Zayas for fame. They want to make him in a mega-star, like the previous fighters from the island. This is more problematic because it cannot hit and is a striking fighter.

Carrington featherweight championship match

In the main combat of support, Bruce Carrington (15-0, 9 KO) is fighting for the free WBC title. The transient title of the featherweight against No. 11 Fringe Centender Mateus Hata (14-0, 9 KO) in a 12-round competition.

The choice of hiat gives Carrington, 28, a greater chance of winning compared to whether the highest rank has chosen one of the pretenders with higher positions. This is a skillful fit on their part, just like with the main warrior, Zayas.

Carrington is a good basic lethargic, but has already been revealed by Sulaiman Segawa last year. He was lucky that he won the segawa born in Uganda. Nevertheless, the fight showed flaws in Carrington, revealing that he was not a warrior to which fans believed.

Janibek Alimkhanuly Shifts Perspective on Hamzah Sheeraz: A New Dynamic in Boxing

Published

"Janibek Alimkhanuly Shifts Perspective on Hamzah Sheeraz: A New Dynamic in Boxing"

Janibek Alimkhanuly spent months trying to get Hamzah Sheeraz into the ring. Now that Sheeraz has vacated his WBO super middleweight title, Janibek is asking fans to stop saying the former champion ran from him. That is generous. It also leaves Janibek with less to say about a fight he wanted badly.

Janibek’s tone has changed since the purse bid. He was eager to fight, said money was not his priority, and publicly pushed Sheeraz to accept. Queensberry then bid $1,001,809 to stage the ordered defense, beating Top Rank’s $820,000 offer. Sheeraz’s 75 percent share would have been roughly $751,000. Days later, he gave up the belt.

That sequence deserves a closer look. Queensberry put a serious number on the fight, so the bid itself cannot be dismissed as proof that nobody valued it. But winning the right to promote a title defense means little to fans when the champion vacates before it happens.

Sheeraz has objected to Janibek receiving a mandatory shot after his failed drug test. He is entitled to explain that position. Fans are equally entitled to ask why the issue reached a purse bid before he surrendered the title. Janibek’s post supplies no answer.

Perhaps Janibek sees no benefit in branding Sheeraz a coward. Doing so would also make the opponent he chased sound less valuable. Calling Sheeraz a great fighter preserves the idea that this was an important contest, even after the belt and the fight slipped away.

The respect between them may be sincere. Janibek still gets no Sheeraz fight, and Sheeraz no longer has to defend his title against Janibek. A friendly photo does not change either result.
