Terrel Williams and Prichard Colon

Terrel Williams is still struggling with abuse of almost a decade after a tragic fight, in which Prichard Colón due to lasting injuries, despite expressing remorse immediately after the fight.

An invincible warrior, who improved to 15-0 in Fairfax, Virginia tonight, had an emotional burden of a fatal meeting in oblivion.

In the consequence of Williams, he said that he could not celebrate victory and revealed that he repeatedly broke up with tears after learning about the state of Colón.

“I can’t enjoy this victory. I’m worried about Prichard,” said Williams La Times Three days after the fight, when the life of the huge intestine hung in balance.

A night that changed everything

The fight from October 2015 was messy, destroyed by fouls and the participation of errors. Colón was done two points for a low blow in the fifth round, while Williams spoke to the shots behind his head in seventh place.

Despite these deductions, Williams was behind schedule, shooting two knocking out in the ninth place. Colóna’s corner mistakenly believed that the fight had ended and the gloves were removed, which caused the loss of disqualification.

Then there was a nightmare. Colón collapsed and later diagnosed with severe brain damage.

When the boxing world was struggling with the tragedy, control fell on the official, regulatory supervision and Williams himself – a critical one, which in some circles never gave way.

Forgotten act of remorse

However, few remind you that Williams immediately offered respect and concern for Colón in hours and days after the fight. “It never thought that I would make a grubby tactic,” he explained then. “We are competitors, but it’s a sport; it’s not because of malice or anger.”

The regulatory body of Virginia began an investigation into the incident, and boxing officials recognized procedural confusion and sizzling moments between the corners during the fight.

WBC also introduced the “Prichard Colon” principles to get strenuous rabbit blows.

Williams, his father himself, said he refrained from visiting Colón in the hospital on the advice of his team, believing that it would be more respected for the privacy of the family.

“I pray for this adolescent man,” he said. “Nothing else in combat matter to me.”

Public anger still lasts almost 10 years

Despite this early public remorse, Williams remained to abuse online and keep guilt. Many of them result from fans who refuse to accept or unconsciousness that Terrel Williams regretted from the very beginning.

While the sport moved, and Colón still receives care under the support of his family, Williams’s reputation remains under fire.

It is a heritage shaped not only because of what happened in the ring, but also because of what many decided to forget outside of it.

According to WBN, the dormant Facebook page still serves as a ventilation point for people expressing anger in Williams for their role in the tragedy, even to this day.

Abuse appears in the form: “Pray to God every day, that you get karma – the faster, the better. Then we will all gladly watch it” and “I hope that karma plays you 1000 times for what you did!”

The fact that the site remains lively emphasizes how little Williams publicly got involved in reaction.
