The best plants on Taylor-Serrano 3, Shakur-Zepeda and others
Published
10 months agoon
Katie Taylor will try to make 3-0 against Amanda Serrano, when they meet on Friday at the undisputed Taylor welterweight championships in Up-to-date York Garden Madison Square Garden (Netflix, 20:00 ET).
Taylor won the first fight in April 2022 made by a divided decision and continued her unanimous win in the rematch in November last year. Both fights were very close, which caused calls to fight the trilogy.
In the co-main event of Alycia Baumgardner defends his undisputed juniors of lithe championships against Jennifer Miranda in a very engaging duel with an early finish.
On Saturday at the Louis Armstrong stadium in Queens, Up-to-date York Edgar Berlanga will face Hamzah Sheeraz in the fight for a super medium weight (Dazn PPV, 17:00 et). Berlanga won his first 16 fights in the first round, but he has only two KO in the last eight fights.
In cooperation with Shakur Stevenson, he places his lithe WBC title on the line against William Zezedie in the fight against the weekend.
With Serrano a petite favorite in her fight with Taylor, and Baumgardner is the biggest favorite on the All-Women card, where is the best value for Bettorów? Stevenson is another great favorite and knowing his style, a certain plant lies in the fact that the fight will go to the decision. But is this the best plant?
The bookmaker expert Espn Ian Parker breaks the best fights on both cards and offers guidelines.
Katie Taylor (+160) vs. Amanda Serrano (-200)
Despite entering 2: 0 in the fight against Taylor with Taylor, Serrano sits as a favorite bookmaker almost 2-1. The first fight was very competitive, and in the second Serrano she had moments when she hurt Taylor, but she couldn’t close her. With another opportunity to finally win in the next epic duel, Serrano will want to operate two clear advantages that he has over Taylor: her power and pace.
There are many ways to find values in this fight.
1. I am on the side of Serrano in this fight, but if the price -175 is a bit high for your preferences, take it to win by decision -110. As powerful as Serrano, and even with his ability to hurt opponents, in Taylor stands a warrior whom he demands and durability is almost unmatched.
2. Because Serrano is known for its power, there are several props that have great value and are worth playing. Even as strong as Taylor is almost 40 years ancient, so I would say that in Taylor is fallen (+350).
3. If you are on the Taylor side, the Money line is +140. But if you are lucky, take Taylor to be knocked down and continue to win (+2000). This is certainly not outside the field of possibilities. Taylor could have been dropped early, but Serrano straightened the rest of the road.
Alycia Baumgardner (-3500) vs. Jennifer Miranda (+1200)
How to get any value from Baumgardner who should not have a problem with Miranda and is the biggest card favorite? The only way to put yourself in this fight is to win Baumgardner based on the decision -190 or KO/TKO in +165. I think the value is in the KO/TKO requisition. Baumgardner should have an advantage everywhere in this fight, and she wears a decent KO (7 KO in 15 fights). She should not have a problem with pressure, overwhelming Miranda with a immense volume and ultimately landing with a knockout. I am surprised that we get such a number for KO/TKO for the defending master.
Savannah Marshall (-550) vs. Shadasia Green (+375)
Marshall is another great favorite because he sits in -500 against Green. This line is too wide, because Green is a threat to its power and speed, and considering that Marshall is fighting for the first time in two years. However, Marshall has an advantage of experience and consistently fought with high-level competition, including Claress Shields and Franchon Crews-Dezurn. And he is a generally better boxer. Until Marshall is caught early by Green’s power, I would look for the bookmaking line -500, Parlaying Marshall to win by -120.
Edgar Blangka (+110) vs. Hamzah Sheeraz (-135)
At the age of -135, I think we get a very good number for Sheeraz, because it always accepts aggressive and risky Berlanga. There is no doubt that Sheeraz is a better boxer, but he must avoid Berlang’s explosive attack, which he brings to every fight in the first round. This and all fights along the way are Berlang’s paths to victory. If Sheeraz manages to master, he should be able to survive an early storm and take control as the fight continued. Because Berlanga notoriously disappears in the fighting later, there are several ways to put this fight.
1. -135 Moneyline for Sheeraz. This price is so low that you can comfortably set it up without stressing the victory method.
2. Sheeraz by KO/TKO in +325 is a great number for a warrior with great power and a immense fuel tank, against a warrior who releases and loses shine as the fight continued.
3. Fight so as not to pass the distance in +105. If you do not want to focus on the site because of how close it is – and rightly so – betting on the finish in plus a chance is a great way. We know that Berlanga will choose KO, which is a chance, and if he does not get it, it can run out to such an extent that Sheeraz can end it later in the fight.
Shakur Stevenson (-1100) vs William Zepeda (+650)
About -1100 Stevenson is the biggest favorite on the Saturday card, and if you watched it long enough, you know that the price for winning it with the decision will not be inexpensive. However, at -200 I don’t hate it. Zepeda is a knockout (27 KO in 33 fights), so I expect Stevenson to defend himself and win with his great style and point point, never exposing himself to the risk, and therefore without choosing KO himself. If you want better value, take Stevenson to win by decision and fight for a distance in +105.

Deontay Wilder’s team wraps up their selection of Anthony Joshua as an alternate opponent for their next fight

Anthony Joshua’s two-fight deal in 2026 has been announced, and Deontay Wilder is once again not part of the Briton’s plans, despite his resurgence.
Wilder’s team have now reacted to the news that Joshua will instead face Kristian Prenga ahead of his fight with Tyson Fury later in the year.
‘AJ’ was drafted by Fury following the latter’s victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov two weeks ago, but he has refused to publicly agree to a long-awaited showdown without a warm-up fight or a fully negotiated agreement.
Since then, another of Joshua’s long-time rivals, Wilder, has been linked as a potential summer opponent to prepare him for a clash with the “Gypsy King.” But on Monday it was different confirmed that the two-time world champion will face the lesser-known Albanian Prenga in exchange for less risk.
In an interview with Sky Sports BoxingShelly Finkel, who manages The Bronze Bomber, revealed that she is neither disappointed nor surprised by Joshua’s opponent, simply summing up the situation as “the same senior story.”
“You can’t be disappointed with something that never happened. Eddie never contacted us and Joshua obviously had no intention of fighting Deontay Wilder. Same senior story, just a modern date.”
While Hearn may not have been ready to fight Wilder, his goal is to defeat the former WBC heavyweight world champion for one of his other heavyweight challengers – Jarrell Miller.
As for Joshua, he will face Prenga on Saturday, July 25 in Riyad, Saudi Arabia, and will be looking to fight one of the biggest fights in British boxing history.

Eddie Hearn says Devin Haney fights are not profitable

April 29, 2026
“We didn’t really make any money on Devin Haney, but that’s OK,” Hearn told Fighthype. “We lost a little. We earned a little. We built him for this position.”
When a promoter like Hearn, who has been Haney’s biggest cheerleader in the past, starts talking about “losing a little” and “overpaying,” it’s a clear sign that market value and actual revenue are out of sync.
Hearn essentially argues that while Haney gained name recognition, he never became a self-sustaining financial engine. The cost of his handbags combined with promotional expenses apparently outweighed the ticket sales and DAZN subscriptions he brought in.
“I’m not prepared to lose a few million by labeling Devin Haney,” Hearn said.
Hearn explained that signing Haney was still critical at the time, especially as a teenage American player with upside, but the numbers behind the performances did not fully reflect the results. He said Matchroom had “paid through the nose” to bring in Haney and push him forward, even if the reward was not immediate.
That experience now shapes his approach to Haney as an opponent or headliner. Hearn made it clear that he was no longer willing to accept losses just to add a recognizable name to his business card.
He compared this to promoters who may still be in the build-up phase, pointing to situations where companies are willing to take short-term financial hits.
“Others do. They may lose a few million, there is nothing wrong with that because they are building their squad,” Hearn said. “I’ve been in this position before. I’m not in this position anymore.”
Haney has yet managed to secure substantial paydays, including appearances at Saudi-backed events and on high-profile US cards, and Hearn admitted that the player and his father Bill have handled their business well. However, from the promoter’s point of view, the calculation has changed.
If the biggest sports promoter claims that he will not put a fighter in the fight of the evening because he will lose $2 million, it is difficult to deny that this fighter is a real “draw”. This suggests that Haney’s status was partly due to high guarantees rather than organic fan demand.

Roy Jones Jr Names Heavyweight Who Will Give Moses Itauma Substantial Problems: ‘He’s The Only One’
Published

Roy Jones Jr believes Moses Itauma is the most “exhilarating heavyweight” since Mike Tyson, but he named one man who would perhaps derail his explosiveness.
Despite not having fought any top-level fighters, Itauma is widely regarded as a future world champion who can reign supreme for many years to come.
The 21-year-old easily scored his biggest win to date in March steamrolling the typically durable Jermaine Franklin in five rounds.
In this way, Itauma became a mandatory challenger to the winner of the Fabio Wardley vs. Daniel Dubois fight, which will take place on May 9 for Wardley’s WBO heavyweight world title.
However, at this point in his promising career, the precocious talent had yet to prove himself at a world-class level, and his only two notable victories were victories over the faded Dillian Whyte and the overmatched Demsey McKean.
Nevertheless, in both cases, in 2025 and 2024 respectively, Itauma finished in the first two rounds and showed his potential at the world level.
After passing the eye test, heavyweight legend Jones believes Itauma is capable of knocking out anyone in the heavyweight division except Alexander Usyk, who still holds the WBC, IBF and WBA world titles.
I’m talking to Grosvenor CasinoJones explains that Usyk’s elusiveness and experience will likely cause problems for the Briton, presenting him with a style he has never encountered before.
“Is Moses Itauma the most exhilarating heavyweight since Mike Tyson? Right now, yes, I think so. He has the explosive punching power that Mike Tyson had. If you can hit them before they hit you, most of the time you’ll knock them out.”
“That’s what Mike did. So if [Itauma] if he does this, he will knock out most heavyweights. However, in Usyk’s case, he’s a bit difficult to hit.
“Moses gives all the heavyweights a difficult time. You can’t say he beat them until you put them in front of him [him]because you haven’t actually seen it cracked yet, but it’s the only one I can see [giving] For him, Usyk is the biggest problem.”
While many consider Usyk vs. Itauma to be the most breathtaking fight in heavyweight boxing, it’s difficult to imagine the pair ever crossing paths in a competitive sense.
