Terenka Crawford rejects the challenge with Ilia Topuria from UFC

Shortly after the Star performance of Terenka Crawford at the weekend in the dethronization of Canelo Alvarez, who became the undisputed champion of a super medium weight, a novel contender appeared. But not a single Crawford is interested in fighting.

28-year-old UFC champion, 28-year-old UFC champion, Ilia Topuria, who has long been interested in putting massive hands in boxing, after the fight with Crawford, a three-part unquestionable champion. Topuria started to social media last week and suggested that he would knock out Crawford if they both met in boxing. Crawford rejected, writing him as an illusion and “drunk”.

Then on Saturday, at night of the fight, Topuria was an exception to Crawford, entering the ring to “Canción del Mariachi” from the movie “Desperado”, which Topuria also uses when she enters the Octagon. 37 -year -old Crawford rejected a comparison during a press conference after a fight, but the featherlight UFC master took an exception and slowed down on social media.

“First, he calls a drunkard, and then goes out to my song,” said Topuria in the post on X. “Crawford whenever you want, I will teach you how to dance Mariachi in the ring. And Canelo, I will save you behind him.”

Crawford not only shrugged his shoulders from the latest progress of Topuria, but called him a “prosecution of strokes”, which “is not at the level” of Conor McGregor.

“I definitely think he is trying to break through,” said Crawford during a performance in “The Ariel Helwani Show” on Monday. “I definitely think that he would get on the ring with me for fighting. That is why we all do it, but at the same time I don’t know what he is doing.

Crawford continued to say that he had never seen the fight against Topuria and wondered why the UFC master did not talk about his desire to fight him when they crossed the path at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas a few months ago.

“When he saw me at the UFC, he came up to embrace my hand and say what I care about. I don’t even know who he was,” said Crawford. “But then I see him online, which says how he knocked me out in the first round and those and that. It is false.”

Although the fight against crossovers in MMA boxing brought a financial advantage for participants, Crawford said that he could see no value in the fight against “El Matador” and gave way to Blockbuster 2017 Showdown between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and McGregor.

“What money would I get out of his fight? Tell me how much I intend to fight him?” Crawford asked. “He is not close to the level of Conor McGregor. Let’s be real. Stop. Don’t compare him even to Conor. … As I said, I don’t know this guy. I have never seen this guy and watch a lot of MMA.

“Maybe I’m slipping. Maybe he is a good warrior. I don’t know. But honestly I have never seen this guy fight. And many times I saw Conor McGregor. … Never try to say they are at the same level.”

Paulie Malignaggi's Insightful Verdict on Manny Pacquiao vs Shakur Stevenson Fight

Paulie Malignaggi has offered his reaction to a reported clash between Shakur Stevenson and Manny Pacquiaowhich could feature on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua.

The all-British heavyweight showdown is expected to take place on December 11, headlining an event at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.

That is, of course, if Fury and Joshua actually make it to the ring, as despite it being announced earlier this week, The Ring’s Mike Coppinger has since reported that their fight is in jeopardy.

Prior to that, it had emerged that an encounter between Stevenson and Pacquiao – between whom there is a near two-decade age gap – was being planned for the same night in Wales.

Should it come to fruition, this would represent Stevenson’s first outing since signing with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing, who he joined after dethroning Teofimo Lopez with a unanimous decision victory in January.

Pacquiao, meanwhile, has not fought since his draw with Mario Barrios in July 2025, when he ended a near four-year layoff and almost claimed the WBC welterweight title.

Yet despite that surprisingly impressive performance, former world champion Malignaggi has emphasised on his YouTube channel that, against Stevenson, the 47-year-old would be facing an entirely different competitor.

“Manny Pacquiao-Shakur Stevenson has no place on this card; [it] has no place in big-time boxing. I am completely befuddled.

“[I’m] disappointed in Stevenson; [I’m] disappointed in Zuffa, obviously. These are ‘click bait’ type of fights. These are names that draw attention, so you can get people to watch. Then the fight’s a dud and all these casuals sit there complaining about boxing, telling you why boxing’s dead.”

Malignaggi went on to credit Pacquiao with being “competitive against the worst world champion I’ve ever seen in my life”, emphasising a considerable difference between Barrios and Stevenson.
