Terence Crawford places big bet on Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson winner

Terence Crawford summed up the quickly approaching fight between Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez by placing a $10,000 bet on his prediction.

On January 31, both Americans will fight for the WBO super lightweight world title awarded by Lopezand many see their fight at Madison Square Garden in Novel York as a 50/50 fight.

Stevenson, who defended his WBC lightweight title with a comprehensive points victory over William Zepeda in July, is bidding for the four-division world title.

The southpaw has scored notable victories over the likes of Oscar Valdez and Jamel Herring at 130 pounds in his previous appearances, and the undefeated fighter has never come close to defeat in pro competition.

However, in this particular fight with Lopez, many believe that the naturally larger and perhaps more athletic man could ultimately prevail.

Indeed, “The Takeover” has proven that he is not one to be taken lightly when it comes to highlight reels, especially considering his victories over Vasyl Lomachenko and Josh Taylor.

However, his lack of such form in lesser-known fights has resulted in his lower performances in recent years against the likes of Jamaine Ortiz, Sandor Martin and Steve Claggett.

Still, many will point to his recent win over Arnold Barboza Jr, which saw Lopez deliver one of his more impressive displays, and suggest he has the ability to solve Stevenson’s mystery later this month.

One person expecting Lopez’s masterclass is popular streamer Adin Ross, who bet $10,000 during his match with Crawford. one of his live broadcasts.

Crawford, on the other hand, insisted that Stevenson was the man to put on a boxing clinic.

“Teo is good at what he does, but he washes himself”

Fans only have weeks to find out.

Tony Bellew Reviews Anthony Joshua's Comeback Victory Over Kristian Prenga After Knockdown Drama

Anthony Joshua may have earned a knockout win over Kristian Prenga but the fight certainly didn’t unfold as most people expected.

Joshua was facing the Albanian in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, and it looked like a massive upset could be on the cards when he was dropped twice in the opening round.

‘AJ’ was able to recover and went on to secure a second round knockout victory to prevent the shock lossseemingly paving the way for the battle against Tyson Fury later this year.

One man who was ringside to witness the battle was former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellewand he praised Joshua’s ability to turn things around in the fight after describing it as ‘chaos’.

“We predicted round two but I don’t think we foresaw that. That was chaos. He doesn’t see the uppercut coming and finds himself on the floor without knowing how he got there.

“The second one he did see it coming and he was able to clench down on the jaw. He got up and then the experience that he has he used tonight because he tied him up. Against Andy Ruiz he didn’t know what he was doing and didn’t know how to do that, but tonight he did.

“He showed once again there is no quit. To be that hurt in the first round and get up, that’s the recoveries of power. People talk about your chin, but it’s not, it’s the level of fitness that gets you up from the floor.

“When Joshua gets a fighter hurt he’s the best finisher in the division. Whenever he hurts someone they’re gone. I haven’t seen him drop anybody and they survive, only Andy Ruiz. He’s a ruthless finisher.”

The clash between Joshua and Fury is now expected to be announced soon for later this year, after Fury won his own interim fight on Friday by defeating Mariusz Wach.
