Steve Collins delivers final verdict on Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn 2 having beaten both fathers

The rivalry between the Eubank and Benn families will continue this evening when Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn meet in a rematch.

More than 30 years after their fathers’ bitter feud, Chris and Conor picked up the fight right where they left off when they met in April, with Eubank Jr taking a unanimous decision victory.

The rematch will take place tonightand with many boxing figures predicting how they thought the second meeting might go, former world champion Steve Collins gave his side of the story, having beaten both Chris Eubank Sr and Nigel Benn in his own career.

Interview with Talksport BoxingCollins first shared his thoughts during the first meeting in April.

“In the first part of the fight, Conor won. He had a perfect fight plan and deviated from the fight plan. His dad said that if he had stuck to the fight plan, he would have won and maybe he could have done it. Maybe he deviated from the plan because Eubank forced him and he could have prevented it.”

He then moved on to the rematch, admitting that he saw paths to victory for both players.

“Either one can win. Only the one who prepares best and sticks to the fight plan, because both are capable of defeating the other, we saw that in the first fight.”

Derek Chisora also shared his opinion on tonight’s rematch, claiming that one fighter needs to win by knockout to have any chance of winning.
