- Devin Haney
- Gervonta Davis
- Shakur Stevenson
- Abdullah Mason
Of the four, Floyd Sr. wants most for his son, Schofield Jr., are Tank, Haney and Shakur. He considers them more significant than Abdullah and says he doesn’t believe they will last much longer.
Haney and Shakur aren’t going anywhere, but their careers could take a hit if they face the riskier opposition they’ve been avoiding. Getting into this type of fight could be disastrous, as was the case with Haney’s loss to Ryan Garcia.
In Shakur’s case, many fighters at 135 and 140 would not be fair for his career. It was strenuous enough for him to pass William Zepeda and Edwin De Los Santos.
“We called them all. We want them Four horsemen. They’re great, so we could take the torch from them and then we’ll fight Mason and the rest of them that show up,” Floyd Schofield Sr. said. MillCity Boxing that he wants his son, “Kid Austin,” to snatch the torch from the “Huge Four.”
There is little chance that Schofield will get a chance to fight WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis. He was selective about the opponents he had to face during his career. With his speed and arm strength, Schofield doesn’t fit the mold of the fighters Tank Davis typically fought as a pro.
Of course, if Turki Alalshikh offers Tank a huge sum to fight Schofield, that’s a different story. This scenario seems unlikely considering there are more popular fighters Turki could match Tank against. Shakur is one of them.
“We want them all. For ‘Kid’ [Schofield Jr.] to become the greatest of all time, he must fight all the champions of his time. We want “Tank” because he will retire soon and he is one of the best. We want Shakur. We want Mason, but he still has some work to do,” Schofield Sr. said.
“Kid Austin” may have given the “Four Horsemen” a scare with his recent first-round knockout victory over Tevin Farmer on June 28, 2025. After that performance, Schofield’s chances of landing any of the four he wants may have decreased.
“These other guys will be gone soon. We wanted Devin. We’ve been calling him since he was 135.”
It’s strenuous to imagine any of the top names giving Schofield Jr. a chance to take the torch away from them. He will likely be imperceptible to them, alongside talents like Andy Cruz and Ernesto Mercado.
