Ryan Garcia saw his hopes for a rematch with Devin Haney in smoke, when Rolando “Rolly” Romero dropped him on his way to win points in the fight for WBA in WBA in Times Square, Recent York on Friday.
Garcia (24-2, KO20) dressed Haney three times on his way to a majority win in April last year, but this victory was changed to a lack of contact, after the 26-year-old obtained a positive result on the forbidden substance Ostarina. Romero (17-2, 13 costs) appeared as a former WBA master in Super Lightweight and widely defeated Manuel James over the past September.
After a tranquil opener, in which both people study their opposition, the fight began in the second round, and Romero found a solid left hook that dropped his rival on canvas.
Garcia Rose trembling, but defeated the count and regained his senses to see the round.
The third saw a more cage romance before “King Row” began to succeed in four and five rounds, but as the fight passed, he began to disappear, let Romero regain control.
Garcia began to enter his shell, offering little when the 29-year-old Underdog still stated, and with the match in the master round Romero was simply bank rounds, passing Garcia.
In the final rounds there was no urgency from Garcia, and the fight hit the results cards.
Two judges won 115-112, and the third reached 118-109 to ensure that Romero won nervousness and took a free belt.
