Roy Jones Jr reveals just how far Moses Itauma can go
Roy Jones Jr has revealed how far he thinks Moses Itauma can go in the sport.
Jones Jr is a former world champion in four weight classes and believes Itauma has what it takes to reach the top.
Itauma has only had 13 fights in his professional career and he has performed admirably so far.
He has 11 stoppage wins, including wins over Mike Balogun, Mariusz Wach and Dempsey McKean.
Itauma last saw action in August when he headlined Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
He stopped Dillian Whyte in the first round, which was the best victory of his career.
He spoke with Jones Jr Club boxing about the Itauma ceiling.
“He could definitely be the next dominant force as long as he isn’t moved on too quickly.
“Sometimes we see guys who just want to get them out quick.
“It all depends on their background, how they grew up and whether they can withstand this pressure.”
Over the last decade, the best heavyweight fighter in this discipline has undoubtedly been two-time undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk.

He won twice against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, respectively.
Usyk’s name has already been linked to Itauma, even though the prospect has much less experience.
Just minutes after his victory over Whyte, General Entertainment Authority president Turki Alalshikh stated that Usyk vs. Itauma is a fight he wants to make.

Jones Jr gave the final answer on how the fight between “The Cat” and Itauma will go.
“It depends on how well the guy understands pressure and how much he wants it.
“He can do anything he wants because he has all the opportunities.
“There is nothing stopping him from becoming world champion unless he moves too brisk, because if you put him in Usyk’s team now, it will be too brisk.”
The 21-year-old was supposed to return to the ring in three days in a match against Jermaine Franklin.
The fight was postponed after Itauma tore his bicep during training camp.
Supervisor the deadline was set for March 28.
Itauma boxed a total of just over five minutes throughout 2025 and hopes to be more busy from March.

Jaron Ennis is the bookmakers’ main favorite to defeat Xander Zayas in their highly anticipated world title clash on Saturday in Brooklyn.
Ennis challenges Zayas for the WBO and WBA super welterweight belts at the Barclays Center live on DAZN pay-per-view.

On Wednesday, Lewis Crocker heads to Australia to defend his IBF welterweight world title against Liam Paro for the first time.
Crocker will face Paro at the Pat Rafter Arena in Queensland, live on DAZN in the UK and Kayo Sports in Australia.
Crocker (22-0, 11 KO) became world champion in September, defeating Paddy Donovan twice before winning the rematch by split decision.
Man from Belfast recorded his second victory over Donovan after the first victory in March last year, and his rival was disqualified for hitting him after the bell.
Paro (27-1, 16 KO) is trying to become a world champion in two weight categories, having previously reigned in the super-lightweight division.
The 30-year-old won the title with a unanimous decision victory over Subriel Matias in Puerto Rico before winning the belt in his first defense against Richardson Hitchins.
The Australian has since won twice, overtaking David Papot in his last appearance in September.
McKean meets Taliva
Heavyweight Demsey McKean will look to continue his rebuild when he faces Liam Talivaa for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific title.
McKean (24-2, 16 KO) had his career cut miniature after a last-round loss to Filip Hrgovic, followed by a brutal first-round loss to Moses Itauma.

The 35-year-old southpaw returned to winning ways with back-to-back stoppage victories.
Talivaa (8-2, 4 KO) last won the IBF Oceania-Orient title, defeating Faiga Opelu by first-round stoppage.
