Road to wealth: Shakur Stevenson fears for the upcoming fight of Gervonta Davis of Lamont Roach
Published
1 year agoon
Shakur Stevenson has “Summary” About whether Gervonta Davis will win his rematch with Lamont Roach on August 16. Stevenson (23-0, 11 KO) has selfish concern: he wants to fight a lot of money with Tank Davis, which cannot happen if he loses a rematch with Roach. Leave Shakur with circumscribed options.
The influence of the nervousness of the tank
Shakur said that the fight between him and Gervonta is “The biggest fight in boxing. “If Davis loses, Shakur will have to go in a different direction because the tank fight will no longer be interested.
“I know that me and the tank are a great fight, so I am worried that I have no opportunity to fight him as an invincible warrior from Lamont Roach before him,” said Shakur Stevenson Ring magazine About his annoyance about Gervonta Davis potentially losing to Lamont Roach in a rematch, and then there is never a chance to fight him. “But we’ll see. Maybe he’ll go there and make it an effortless fight.”
Well, if Tank Davis loses with Karai in the rematch on August 16, this is not the end of the world. This would only mean that Shakur can wait for them to fight the trilogy. The third fight of Davis-Roach can be issued in November or December. In the meantime, Stevenson could fight one of the best pretenders, such as Andy Cruz, Jadier Herrera, Abdullah Mason or Tevin Farmer. These are all challenging fights, but if Shakur is “the best warrior in boxing,” as he always says, he should be able to beat all these guys.
“It’s a great fight. I think Oscar [De La Hoya] knows [William] Zepeda is really against it Here, but of course the numbers made sense to throw bones, “said Eddie Hearn promoter Fight Hub tv About the Golden Boy promotions that feel that it was worth allowing the unbeaten William Zepedie to fight Shakur Stevenson on the 12 July card.
On paper it is an easier fight for Zeda than his last two competitions from Tevin Farmer. Shakur has no size, power or severity of the farmer. The only thing he does better than a farmer is movement and moved a lot. If Tevin moved more than in these two fights, he would be booed by fans.
He did enough to stop the fans from informing him about it. The farmer is a much bold warrior than Shakur and always. Zepeda is to worry less against Shakur than in his fights with a hardly striking farmer.
Zepeda is different
“I think that without Ring and Riyadh’s magazine, I don’t think this fight [Shakur vs. Zepeda] It happened if I was truthful. But Zepeda is a great warrior. I think that in terms of style is a great duel, especially for Shakur Stevenson. He is a guy who is a huge opponent. Of course, he likes fighters who are approaching him. Zepeda is a very aggressive action and throws a huge number of blows. I think it’s a very good fight. “
Shakur and Hearn can live to regret that they are fighting William Zezda, because he is a completely different animal than the best guys he fought during his eight -year professional career. The best guys who fought Stevenson are these fighters:
– Edwin de los Santos
– Arthur Harutyunyan
– Jamel Herring
– Joet Gonzalez
– Oscar Valdez
– Robson Conceicao
This is a fairly tender group when you compare them with the youthful Tom Zepeda. He is stronger than those warriors and throws many more blows. Unless Shakur plans to escape all night, he has a nightmare fight.
“This is the last fight of our existing contract,” said Hearn about a contract for two fights between Matchroom and Stevenson ending his fight with Zepeda. “So we will work to fight from now on and not only to keep him in the match. Of course we have great relationships,” said Hearn.
Turks Alalshikh will have to assist in the fight against Gervont Davis, because Hearn probably will not invest money for Tank and Shakur expectations for this fight. If the fight is not made, it will be compelling to see who Shakur is fighting for the rest of his career at the age of 135. It is not a large enough hit to climb weight up to 140 and 147.
Influence on Stevenson’s hand injuries
His shortcrust hands are also a problem. In order for Shakur to fight the highest level fighters, he must be able to throw enough to be afraid of him with an aggressive attack. He can’t do it if he protects glass hands and is unable to throw with any power.
“If you said to Shakur:” What do you think, who is the best promoter in the world and who would you like to be? “He would say:” Eddie and Matchroom. ” But if we can’t come up with a contract, it would change very quickly.
Whether Shakur stays with the match can be reduced to whether they can provide him with a fight with Tank Davis. Stark Tank and Conor Benn are the ones that seem to be the most interested.
Stevenson did not talk about the desire to fight the other best delicate, Keyshawn Davis, Raymond Muratalla, Andy Cruz and Abdullah Mason. He was very calculated since he moved to 135 in 2023, pushing only to Tank Davis and Vasily Lomachenko. He rejected threatening fights with Jadier Herreca and Ernesto Mercado to fight Josh Padley. It shows a bit that Shakur does not want to be defeated before he gets the fight Tank Davis.

Anthony Joshua may have earned a knockout win over Kristian Prenga but the fight certainly didn’t unfold as most people expected.
Joshua was facing the Albanian in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, and it looked like a massive upset could be on the cards when he was dropped twice in the opening round.
‘AJ’ was able to recover and went on to secure a second round knockout victory to prevent the shock lossseemingly paving the way for the battle against Tyson Fury later this year.
One man who was ringside to witness the battle was former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellewand he praised Joshua’s ability to turn things around in the fight after describing it as ‘chaos’.
“We predicted round two but I don’t think we foresaw that. That was chaos. He doesn’t see the uppercut coming and finds himself on the floor without knowing how he got there.
“The second one he did see it coming and he was able to clench down on the jaw. He got up and then the experience that he has he used tonight because he tied him up. Against Andy Ruiz he didn’t know what he was doing and didn’t know how to do that, but tonight he did.
“He showed once again there is no quit. To be that hurt in the first round and get up, that’s the recoveries of power. People talk about your chin, but it’s not, it’s the level of fitness that gets you up from the floor.
“When Joshua gets a fighter hurt he’s the best finisher in the division. Whenever he hurts someone they’re gone. I haven’t seen him drop anybody and they survive, only Andy Ruiz. He’s a ruthless finisher.”
The clash between Joshua and Fury is now expected to be announced soon for later this year, after Fury won his own interim fight on Friday by defeating Mariusz Wach.
