Queensberry canceled the show after Lawrence Okolie failed a test

Queensberry have announced that their scheduled performance in Paris on Saturday has been canceled following Lawrence Okolie’s failed drug test.
Okolie was scheduled to face Tony Yoka in a key heavyweight clash.
However, the 33-year-old returned an unfavorable analysis result in the VADA test.
Promoter Frank Warren made a last-minute effort to find a replacement, as reported by David Adeleye proboxing-fans.com earlier on Tuesday, he would be willing to step in with four days’ notice.
Later on Tuesday, Queensberry confirmed that the entire card had been scrapped.
Queensberry said in a statement posted on the website X: “Due to circumstances beyond our control, Queensberry and DAZN have regretfully decided to cancel the event scheduled for Saturday in Paris.
“Please contact your ticket purchaser for a refund.”
The event was scheduled to feature a super welterweight clash between WBC title challenger Bakary Samake and Ermal Hadribeaj.
Okolie vowed to prove his innocence, citing treatment for a previous injury as the reason for the test failure.
The Londoner reposted the post Instagram: “Before anyone starts imagining the worst, after injuring my biceps last year, I injured my elbow on the same arm during this camp.
— Queensberry Promotions (@Queensberry) April 21, 2026
“I underwent treatment and now we are here.
“I hope common sense will prevail.
“I will of course cooperate fully with all relevant authorities and I am confident that any investigation will clear my name.

“I will not be making any further comments at this time.
“Thank you for all your support and see you soon.”
According to reports“The Sauce” tested positive for GHRP 2 and its metabolite M8, a synthetic substance that stimulates the body to release human growth hormone.
The substance is able to enhance muscle mass, improve regeneration and lend a hand with fat loss.
The positive test and subsequent canceled fight put his world heavyweight title hopes on ice for now.
Okolie, a former cruiserweight world champion, is the number one contender in the WBC rankings, behind world champion Oleksandr Usyk.
