Paige VanZant and Elle Brooke’s showdown is getting incredibly awkward

Published

on

The pre-fight showdown between former UFC star Paige VanZant and OnlyFans content creator Elle Brooke turned out to be painfully awkward as the two traded insults ahead of their fight in Texas this weekend. The pair headlined Misfits Boxing 15 at the NRG Arena in Houston, Texas in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Brooke, 26, has a 3-1 record since turning to impact boxing, and heads into the fight following a dominant TKO victory over former Love Island star AJ Bunker. VanZant was one of the UFC’s rising stars before she lost four of her final six fights inside the Octagon and was released in 2020.

Since then, VanZant, 30, has competed in bare-knuckle boxing and professional wrestling, and has gained a huge fan base thanks to the risqué content she shares on OnlyFans and other platforms. Before the fight, the pair sat across the table to awkwardly exchange their opinions about each other and the fight.

The conversation was interrupted by a series of awkward silences, during which Brooke focused on the former MMA prodigy in particular. “I think people don’t talk about you as much these days,” Brooke said. “When you were in the UFC there was a lot of talk about it, but now you’ve lost that appeal. Whether it’s views or just people taking an interest in you, I think you’ve fallen.

“I guess you don’t really care about fighting anymore. I think you’re probably making your money elsewhere, I think your heart is no longer in the game and I think that’s your biggest weakness.

VanZant responded to Brooke’s claims that fans have lost interest in her fighting career by bluntly saying, “Is this your first main event appearance?” Brooke nodded in response and VanZant smiled smugly at her.

VanZant urged fighters to place an OnlyFans-style side bet on the fight. “It should be,” she told MMA Fighting. “There definitely should be something extra to it. But I do not know. She wouldn’t shake my hand [during] fight week. So we’ll have to come back to that conversation after the fight.”

Vanzant also suggested that they have a drink together after the fight in Texas, although Brooke had a stern warning for her opponent. “You won’t look very pretty,” Brooke said. “You’ll be all bloody and fucked up and you’ll be like, ‘I just got beat by a powerful man, damn it.'”

Deontay Wilder’s father called ‘crazy’ and boxing career hangs in the balance – EXCLUSIVE

Published

on

Richard Riakporhe has mocked Deontay Wilder’s father Gary for suggesting the Bronze Bomber still has a “few good years” left in the sport. Wilder has recently suffered a dramatic decline, most recently hitting a novel low when he was defeated by Zhilei Zhang in Saudi Arabia.

The hard-hitting American was knocked out in the fifth round, with Zhang unleashing two right hooks, sending his opponent to the canvas. The manner in which he lost led to calls for Wilder to retire, including: from his own mother’s side, but his father still believes that he should continue to fight.

In a speech earlier this month, the elder Wilder pointed the finger at his son’s coach Malik Scott and said: “You don’t need a buddy to coach you. It’s not too delayed for [Deontay]. I believe he still has a few good years ahead of him.

“Deontay has always been dull. Now Malik is trying to train him to be a boxer, and if you look at it, you can see that Deontay is not comfortable where he is.”

Riakporhe, who faced Chris Billam-Smith for the WBO cruiserweight title on Saturday night, believes there is still hope for Wilder but disagrees with his father’s hopeful view.

“I don’t know what it is, but something is missing,” Riakporhe told Express Sport. “If he can fix this, he can definitely do something. I think I read somewhere that his dad said he might spend another few years in the sport. I think this is crazy. He’s almost turning 40!

“But I would say he can definitely have a few more fights and he can end it all. Something is wrong, something is missing. In the heavyweight division, all it takes is one good win and that’s it, he’s there.

“There are so many fighters in the heavyweight division who have lost so many times and are still at the top. “I think if he can fix it, then fine, but if he can’t fix it, he shouldn’t get in the ring again.”

Wilder suggested before the fight with Zhang that he would retire if he did not win, but the 38-year-old has not yet confirmed any plans to hang up his gloves. He has lost four of his last five appearances, with two of those defeats coming at the hands of Tyson Fury.

He was also defeated on points by Joseph Parker before losing to Zhang.

I am talking with Foreign poker sitesKhan said: “If the weight is right, I don’t mind giving up 20 pounds.

“It just depends on the weight because I know Jake gained a lot of weight to fight Mike. Jake isn’t usually this gigantic, but he’s gained a lot of weight, so it’s up to him to decide if he’s willing to lose the weight and we’ll find a middle ground somewhere.

We’ll see, but I haven’t had any calls about it, so I assume they’re still hoping to fight Mike and he won’t want to get beat up before then. These guys are halfway through training, drinking at camp – they don’t even have a camp – they make the sport look bad, so if it means I have to knock out KSI, Jake Paul and his brother Logan to teach them a lesson, I’ll do it this”.

Mirror reports that the former boxer added: “Honestly, I don’t think Jake Paul will want anything to do with me.

“I want to give this boxing influencer a break because these guys are destroying boxing and until they get a good beating they won’t realize that boxing is for real fighters who take the sport seriously.”
