Pacquiao regrets that without postponing the fight of Mayweather

Everyone regrets. This even applies to legendary fighters such as Manny Pacquiao. Preparing to return to the fight with Mario Barrios this summer, Pacquiao opened about one of his great regret in the boxing sport. “If I could change one thing in my career,” he said, for a few seconds, “I would ask to postpone my fight with Floyd Mayweather in 2015 after hurting my arm during training.

Indeed, Pacquiao hurt his rotational cuff, preparing for his great fight against Mayweather in 2015. Regardless of whether the Mayweather eventually won the fight because of Pacquiao or not, the fact that Pacquiao was still fighting Mayweather after hurting his arm, for years clearly worried Pacquiao.

“I thought it would be fine and that I would feel better without surgery after suffering from this injury two weeks before the fight,” he added, “but my injury worsened after the third round. Pushing this crucial fight that happened according to the plan is my greatest regret.”

While Pacquiao remains one of the largest and most beloved fighters over the past half century, it does not perceive the fact that the loss is a loss, despite the reasons or excuses that can be given. Despite this, Pacquiao regrets that he has postponed Mayweather’s fight until he was in perfect physical shape, and this is understandable. Many would accuse Pacquiao of an attempt to get out of the fight, but Pacquiao, in retrospect, believe that a healthier arm would lead to a better result.

Regardless of how everything went to Mayweather, it cannot be denied that Pacquiao still attracted eyeballs and attention to his last fight, which was a loss for Yordenis Ugas a few years ago. Now, however, he is coming back, as if so many great tried to come back in the past. While George Foreman turned out to be an exception to the rule, the majority of returning the substantial ones do not work well after he was away from the ring for some time. And Pacquiao is now closer to 50 than 40.

It seems that Mayweather also had difficulties, adapting to life outside the ring … If it is tough to earn a lot of money in exhibition duels. It seems that there is something in this sport that has the endless charm of those who mastered it. It is worrying that after a certain age of the warrior he can be seriously hurt. This is not an opinion, but a fact. If Pacquiao is hurt in the return of this summer, his injury leading to the Walkeather fight may seem irrelevant.

Radivoje Kalajdzic improved to 31-3 with a unanimous decision over Craig Richards, who dropped to 20-5-1 after a good ten-round scrap. Both men had their moments and hurt each other at times before “Hot Rod” got the verdict on the scorecards, which included knocking Richards down for the first time in his career.
