ONE Championship delivers two wild decisions and one dramatic finish at Friday Fights 162

Adam Benwarwar took two knockdowns and gave one final answer. The Moroccan overcame a torrid start to stop Kongklai Sor Sommai by TKO in the bantamweight Muay Thai main event of ONE Friday Fights 162 on Friday, July 17, at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The card followed The Inner Circle 22 on the same stacked night in the Thai capital.

Benwarwar came out firing, rocking his opponent with heavy punches early. Kongklai answered instantly, dropping the 23-year-old with a booming left hook for an eight-count.

Benwarwar climbed back to his feet and kept trading, opening a cut over Kongklai's eye before the round ended. Kongklai pressed his advantage in round two, battering the body before scoring a second knockdown with a two-punch combination.

Benwarwar refused to fold. He found his range again, dropped Kongklai with a right cross, then closed the show with a left hook that sent the Thai back down. The referee stopped the contest at 2:44 of round two, improving Benwarwar's record to 25-7.

The Moroccan later revealed in his post-fight interview that he had learned of his grandfather's passing before entering the ring, adding weight to one of the biggest wins of his career.

The co-main event brought its own storyline. Khunponnoi Sor Sommai, 33, leaned on relentless left kicks and clinch control to outpoint game Scotsman Gregor Thom over three rounds, taking a unanimous decision in the flyweight Muay Thai bout and improving to 128-34.

RAF 11 live blog: Arman Tsarukyan vs. Colby Covington

This is the live blog for Arman Tsarukyan vs. Colby Covington, the main event wrestling match for Saturday's RAF 11 card in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

One of the top MMA fighters in the world, Tsarukyan has become the face of RAF in 2026, competing in seven events for the promotion already. Though he doesn't hail from a traditional wrestling background, Tsarukyan has proven himself more than capable on the mats, going a perfect 7-0 in RAF, which has earned him this opportunity for the RAF's inaugural Crossover title, against Covington.

A former Division 1 All-American wrestler and JUCO national champion, Covington leveraged his wrestling chops to a successful MMA career in the UFC, winning an interim title and fighting for the undisputed championship several times. “Chaos†retired from the sport earlier this year so he could focus his energy on RAF, and quickly racked up three wins in the promotion, putting him in this title match.

Check out the live blog for Tsarukyan vs. Covington below.

I can't get over this Ben Askren match but we have Arman and Colby about to hate-wrestle. Colby is walking out first. He looks like he's got a chip on his shoulder. Surely Arman will be too small. But we've seen crazier things. Here comes Arman Tsarukyan. Got the cheese head for the Milwaukee faithful. No boos for Arman despite not being an American. Shows how liked he is.

We're getting the wrestlers announced. Three periods. Crossover belt. You know the drill.

Colby starts out looking for collar ties and gets a headlock. Arman gets on the front head lock and really muscles clubby down. Colby tries to sucker drag Arman out but Arman stays on the head. Ref breaks it out and Arman is on the shot clock. Arman fighting for double under here as well. Colby is in another head lock. Arman unable to score and goes down a point. This might be the first time he's down in RAF? Arman dives on a leg and almost gets a single but Colby goes through for two with some tremendous defense.

Colby ends the period up 3-0.

Colby with a comfortable lead and grabs double unders. Arman is really struggling with the size of Colby. Arman shoots and lifts Colby looking for a Dake bomb but Covington handles well and Arman is back in this, 3-2. Covington shoots on a single and Arman tries to limp leg out. Gator roll from Covington and no score. Fun exchange there. A bad shot for Arman and Colby Covington is able to score again before the period is over. This third round is gonna slap.

Arman looks exhausted in his corner. Period three begins and Covington commands the center again. Arman is really shooting from too far out now in desperation. Colby sprawls and goes to a front headlock to slow down the second layer of Arman's wrestling. Arman fakes a level change and shoot, again, Colby is wise to it. Covington put on the shot clock and didn't score. 5-3. Arman shoots deep on Covington but Colby answers with a catlike sprawl. Arman shoots as soon as the ref blows the whistle to restart. Colby waits and lets the clock expire. Arman's side-quest undefeated streak is over.

Colby Covington defeats Arman Tsarukyan 5-3, wins the RAF Cruiserweight Crossover title.

We've not had any Arman Tsarukyan antics yet. Chael is talking with Covington first, of course. “Arman's going to be lightweight champ, I'm sure of it. It was an honor to compete with Arman tonight.†Really amicable of Covington. “His tie ups, fades, getting to the legs and be able to build up,†Covington continues. “Bring on Chimaev, bring over that cross-eyed dork Belal, bring on Woodley, they can all get it.†Covington wants to defend his title.

No interview from Arman Tsarukyan.

RAF 11 live blog: Ben Askren vs. Belal Muhammad

This is the live blog for Ben Askren vs. Belal Muhammad, the co-main event wrestling match at Saturday's RAF 11 card in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

A two-time NCAA Div. 1 national champion and two-time Dan Hodge trophy winner, Askren is one of the most accomplished wrestlers to ever fight in MMA, also competing in the 2008 Olympics. Askren parlayed that wrestling ability into world championships for ONE and Bellator, before finally moving to the UFC for a short run before retiring. Unfortunately, tragedy struck Askren last year when he was hospitalized with severe pneumonia, ultimately requiring a lung transplant. Now back to health, Askren is taking this match as a one-off, a bout that seems more about its message than the result of the match.

A former UFC welterweight champion, Muhammad wrestled in high school but not past that, though his MMA career was defined by his wrestling chops. Muhammad also has history with Askren, training with him during their MMA careers, making this bout perhaps less of a heated engagement than a fun farewell match for Askren.

Check out the live blog for Tsarukyan vs. Covington below.

Here comes Belal first. Fireworks and Muhammad is hyped up for this match. But Ben Askren is next as the crowd goes nuts. The comeback story is real here and the crowd is eating it up. Belal Muhammad won't have many friends in the crowd tonight. Ben Askren soaking it in before he walks to the mat for what is perhaps the final time. The fact that Askren is here is insane in its own way.

The announcer is giving the crowd the introductions and here we go!

Askren is commanding the center early and forcing Belal to shoot first. Funk soon? Askren is tying up against Belal and actually looks strong. Muhammad gets put on the shot clock early. Belal shoots from too far out and fails. Askren gets on the board early with Belal Muhammad failing to score on the clock. Askren shucks Muhammad by.

End of the round, Ben Askren is up 1-0.

Second period begins and Belal comes out more active. Muhammad shoots and fails to get though to the legs of Askren. Ben Askren shoots on the hips and scores on Muhammad with a push out! This is crazy that it's not over! Another point for Askren as he throws Muhammad out at the edge with the whizzer. Muhammad jumps in on a front head lock and Askren does a good job of reastling up and stays square. Askren is looking fantastic!

We are two periods through and Belal Muhammad has not scored yet! Askren up 3-0!

THIRD PERIOD! LET'S GO! Askren shoots and Muhammad stuffs. Muhammad shoots and gets the double leg to score two. One point spread!. Askren shoots again to another Belal sprawl. Askren looking for some funk but the referee calls it a stale mate. Askren scores again and Belal sprawls again. Belal Muhammad gets the go-behind. He's now up 4-3. Down to 30! ANY MAGIC? Askren shoots on the single and gets sprawled on again. Muhammad looking for the go behind again. Looks like Muhammad scores two but Askren's coach throws the brick. Doesn't matter, Muhammad wins!

Insane wrestling from both sides to see what Askren comes from. He looks anguished on the side but Ben Askren put on a fantastic performance.

Belal Muhammad defeats Ben Askren, 6-3.

“It's Ben's birthday. He came back from death. This should be a standing ovation,†Muhammad says in his post fight interview with Chael Sonnen. “Every day you have a new day of sunlight, that's a new day to live, a new day to fight.â€

Belal Muhammad continues, “We got a bitch going into the main event, his name is Colby Covington. I will find him and I will stomp on his neck until he stops breathing.â€

Now the arena is singing Happy Birthday to Askren. Chael got some pipes.

We've moved to Askren's interview. “I get tired fast these days,†says Askren who just went three rounds with a former UFC welterweight champion.

“For sure my last time on the mat. I love you guys, I really do,†Askren says as he takes his shoes off to leave on the mat a final time. Ben Askren's “I worked hard as shit in the last year,†Askren said. His comeback was incredible and as he leaves his shoes in the middle of the mat, the crowd goes crazy.

Ben Askren's career is a peculiar one. Not the most athletic, he became an American legend with his mind. His patented funk wrestling changed the mind of the “experts†who thought they knew how to wrestle. A World Champion and an Olympian, Askren's impact will never be forgotten.
