London – Lennox Lewis believes that Oleksandr Usyk should retire if he defeats Daniel Dubois on Saturday.
Last year, Usyk (23.0 14 KO) became the first undisputed heavyweight champion from Lewis in 1999 after defeating Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The feat was the latest from his long list of achievements, including the Olympic gold medal. He was also the undisputed champion of the scale in the circuitous weight before moving to heavyweight, where he beat Fury and Anthony Joshua twice, and already won with Dubois in his album.
If he won on Saturday, Usyk would be the only double champion of men from four lanes. Asked if he thinks that Usyk should hang gloves with winning on Saturday, Lewis was clear with his answer and reasoning.
“Yes,” he told journalists. “There is nothing to prove. He could leave before this fight, and in the boxing Daniel Dubois he takes a great risk.
“But if he feels that he can go through it, the risk is good, because the title he can claim is immense. He may pushes him, but to fight, you must have a trip plan.
“When you work, you must have a way out. If I work for seven years, I can get out and his output plan is one more fight.”
Considering what he achieved, Lewis thinks Usyk will fall as great.
“He is definitely in the same group as Muhammad Ali, me, all great warriors,” said Lewis.

Lewis believes that Dubois must try to exploit his size to his favor, although Uyk has become better than much larger opponents of Fury and Joshua.
“Usyk has a very high IQ, but it is not a natural weighty weight, it is a built-in weighty weight. Daniel is a natural weighty weight and can exploit it in his favor, especially in the first few rounds, and pushes Usyk to the ropes,” Lewis said.
“I used to call Usyk a rabbit because he jumps, but you can’t let him do it; he must put pressure on his feet, push him back to the ropes and make sure that he is the first and last with his combinations.”
