World boxing was in fresh controversy after Taiwan Lin Yuting withdrew from the upcoming world championships in Liverpool.
The 29-year-old, who won bronze at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 and gold in Paris last summer, will now sit next to IMane Khelif Algeria off the beaten track after a dispute over sex qualification.
According to the Taiwanese boxing association, Lin has already completed the required sex test and sent results to World Boxing. However, the managing authority allegedly did not answer, forcing officials to withdraw it from the tournament at the last minute.
Taiwan boxing statement
“We cannot allow athletes to travel to Great Britain without any guarantee”, an association.
Coach Tseng Tzu-Chiang had previously committed that Lin would compete in Liverpool and confirmed that the documentation was sent in good faith.
But without written confirmation of world boxing, the ropes were excluded from participation.

The situation reflects the ongoing saga with the participation of Khelif, who was also unable to compete among the questions regarding qualifying in sport. Both cases added fuel to the debate, which still dominates in amateur boxing at the highest level.
Since then, Khelif has questioned the creation of test procedures in the arbitration court for sport.
World boxing, created after the IOC froze the International Boxing Association (IBA), faced repeated challenges in the regulation of competition standards.
The case of lines further intensifies control over how quickly and crystal clear supports sensitive problems.
For now, one of the best Asian fighters remains suspended, and the world championships in Liverpool lose their next great name.
