Lenier Pero and Jordan Thompson will face off this weekend: Matchroom Boxing
The gala promoted by Matchroom will take place this Saturday at Caribe Royale in Orlando, and the main event will be a scheduled ten-round fight between Cuban heavyweight Lenier Pero and London-based Jordan Thompson, who will move up to this weight for the first time.
DAZN Pero vs. Thompson live screen.
Two-time Pan American Games gold medalist Pero (12-0, KO8) began his professional career in Germany and also played in Argentina, Colombia and the United States in his fledgling career.
The 32-year-old passed all the tests he faced so far, and in 2023 he won in the eighth round against the undefeated Viktor Vykhryst, before stopping Guillermo Andino in the round.
Pero fought just once in 2024, defeating Donnie Palmer in one round, and needed more than a year off before returning in April, where he completed ten rounds for the first time in an simple points win over Detrailous Webster in Orlando.
Thompson (15-1, KO12) is the next stop for Pero, with the Englishman fighting at cruiserweight, where he scored an IBF European bombshell against Vasil Ducar in August 2022, coming off the deck in the final round to score points.
After one defense, his ranking in the IBF enabled him to fight for the title against IBF World Champion Jai Opetaia, but it was far too early for “Troublesome” as he was dominated and defeated in four rounds.

This occurred in September 2023 and was the last time Thompson was seen.
Pat Brown vs. Felix Valera
Pat Brown from Team GB (4-0, KO4) will advance to the ten-round level for the first time in history, and the cruiserweight fighter from Manchester can score another quick victory, this time against Felix Valera (24-8, KO21).

Undercard remaining
Yoelvis Gomez (9-1, KO7) is the next Cuban in action, and the super welterweight prospect could find scoring success against undefeated Antraveous Ingram (12-0, KO6) also over ten rounds.
In six-round action, amateur star Omari Jones (3-0, KO3) continues his education and could be the first to stop Tanzania’s Yusuppha Metu (12-2, KO9) in a super welterweight clash, while Nishant Dev (3-0, KO2) could become an early winner of a super welterweight fight against Juan Carlos Campos Medina (4-2, KO3).

Undefeated featherweight Carlos Jamil De Leon Castro (5-0, KO4) should also win inside the schedule against Columbia’s Wilner Soto (24-21, KO13).
The only four-rounder is at bantamweight, where newcomer Ryan Santiago can stop Mario Hernandez Betancourt (0-2), who was stopped in both of his previous fights.
Jaron Ennis is the bookmakers’ main favorite to defeat Xander Zayas in their highly anticipated world title clash on Saturday in Brooklyn.

On Wednesday, Lewis Crocker heads to Australia to defend his IBF welterweight world title against Liam Paro for the first time.
Crocker will face Paro at the Pat Rafter Arena in Queensland, live on DAZN in the UK and Kayo Sports in Australia.
Crocker (22-0, 11 KO) became world champion in September, defeating Paddy Donovan twice before winning the rematch by split decision.
Man from Belfast recorded his second victory over Donovan after the first victory in March last year, and his rival was disqualified for hitting him after the bell.
Paro (27-1, 16 KO) is trying to become a world champion in two weight categories, having previously reigned in the super-lightweight division.

The Australian has since won twice, overtaking David Papot in his last appearance in September.

McKean meets Taliva
Heavyweight Demsey McKean will look to continue his rebuild when he faces Liam Talivaa for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific title.
McKean (24-2, 16 KO) had his career cut miniature after a last-round loss to Filip Hrgovic, followed by a brutal first-round loss to Moses Itauma.
The 35-year-old southpaw returned to winning ways with back-to-back stoppage victories.
Talivaa (8-2, 4 KO) last won the IBF Oceania-Orient title, defeating Faiga Opelu by first-round stoppage.
Undercard remaining
At cruiserweight, Luke Modini (13-0, 11 KO) will likely need distance to beat Peng Qu (17-2-1, 12 KO), while Riley Candy (8-1, 5 KO) could stop Nathan Watson (11-3, 3 KO) at super middleweight.
Vegas Larfield (13-1, 9 KO) can hand Shamal Ram Anuj (11-8, 8 KO) his fourth defeat in a row in a featherweight clash.
Heavyweight Nelson Asofa-Solomon (2-0, 2 KO) can secure a third straight knockout over debutant George Burgess, and Stevan Ivic (8-0-1, 2 KO) can do the same against Caleb Tialu (3-7, 3 KO), also a heavyweight.
Prospective super welterweight fighter Jack Javed (1-0) should overtake Lance McDonald (1-5-1, 1 KO).
