Cain Velasquez, a former heavyweight champion of UFC, was sentenced to five years in prison for trying to murder. This load results from the incident in 2022, in which Velasquez shot arrows at a man accused of harassment of his juvenile son.
The incident took place in February 2022, when Velasquez got involved in the 11-kilometer car pursuit, shooting many shots in the vehicle carrying Harry GOULTE, a man accused of harassment of his son. However, Velasquez left him and instead hit his stepfather, Paul Bender, who suffered life -threatening injuries.
The verdict of Velasquez caused a mixed reaction, and some MMA personalities expressed their dissatisfaction. In particular, Velasquez will receive a loan for a time, which covers almost three years spent in custody and under the restriction of the house. Therefore, it is expected to serve about 18 months to two years before he can seem.
The messages were caused by the reactions of several MMA fighters, including Khabib Nurmagomedov, a friend and former training partner Velasquez with American Kickboxing Academy (AKA).
“Stay Powerful Lion” Khabib Nurmagomedov via Instagram Story expresses his support for his long -time friend Cain Velasquez.
Khabib Nurmagomedov had previously supported his teammate in one of his interviews with TMZ.
“I want to embrace his hand, give him good energy. Everyone in the world who respects himself who loves his family will do the same.” Nurmagomedov said.

Several other fighters reacted to messages and expressed support for Velasquez.
Former BMF champion Jorge Masvidal, he reacted to messages. “#FreeCain” wrote on Twitter Masvidal.
Former airy claimant Michael Chiesa wrote on Twitter:
“Cain should not take prison. In the heat of the moment, which man would not have the passage of the sentence to protect his family. You should focus on a man who committed crimes much worse than what Cain did. I am grateful only 5 years instead of 30 years.”
“This is terrible,” said former league champion 185 Chris Weidman.
Many MMA fighters, such as Gilbert Burns, Darren Till, Derek Brunson and Joanna Jedczczyk, supported and used the hashtag “#freeCain”.

Ian Machado Garry hopes to reach legendary status by displaying dominance for the next decade.
Garry has a tall task in front of him this Saturday, but there is a reward that would mark his greatest career accomplishment to date. “The Future will be challenging Islam Makhachev for the welterweight gold in the UFC 330 main event. If Garry can emerge victorious in Philadelphia on Saturday, he'll capture UFC gold for the first time in his career.
Ahead of fight night, Garry took part in a media day scrum. The top 170-pound title challenger said he wants to carry Irish MMA throughout the next 10 years, and he believes he can be a dominant champion who will etch his name in history (via MMAJunkie).
“I'm talking about a decade of domination,†Garry said. “I'm 28 years of age. (Alexander) Volkanovski is still champion of the world. He's 38. Justin Gaethje just won a title in his third attempt. He's 38 years of age. I have 10 years of domination in this sport against the next best opponent every single time. Something that excites me has been the champion of the world, fighting the right fight, the person who deserves the title shot the most, which is something I don't feel like the UFC has always done. But that's my job as the champion, to make sure the rightful contender gets the shot every single time.â€
Garry has defeated former UFC Welterweight Champion Belal Muhammad, Carlos Prates, Geoff Neal, and Michael Page on his road to challenging for Makhachev's gold. His lone loss was a competitive five-round bout against Shavkat Rakhmonov back in late 2024.
Makhachev hasn't suffered a loss in over a decade, and he's become the No. 1-ranked pound-for-pound fighter in the eyes of many experts. He enters Saturday's clash inside Xfinity Mobile Arena as a significant betting favorite, but the challenger has vowed to score a spectacular knockout to silence his doubters.
Do you see Ian Machado Garry fulfilling his goal of being dominant for the next decade, or is that a pipedream? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
Bare Knuckle Boxing has added another second-generation boxer to
its growing roster.
The promotion recently announced that Sharif Rahman has signed a
multi-fight agreement, bringing the undefeated prospect into the
bare-knuckle ranks while still in his prime.
Sharif Rahman joins BKB after building an undefeated 9-0 boxing
record
Rahman, 30, is the son of former two-time heavyweight champion
Hasim Rahman and the brother of professional boxer Hasim Rahman Jr.
His father famously stopped Lennox Lewis in 2001 to capture the
heavyweight championship.
Known as “C3,†Rahman has compiled an unblemished 9-0 professional
boxing record with four knockouts. The Baltimore native, who now
resides in Las Vegas, will attempt to carry that unbeaten record
into bare-knuckle competition.
“I’ve carried this family name my whole career and I’ve never
lost,†Rahman said via press release. “Bare-knuckle is a new test,
no gloves, no excuses, just pure skill and heart and I’m bringing
my undefeated record to BKB to prove I belong among the best in the
trigon.â€
Rahman follows several established boxers who have recently made
the move to BKB, including Victor Ortiz, JoJo Diaz, Alfredo Angulo
and Lee Selby.
His promotional debut and opponent will be announced at a later
date.
Islam
Makhachev and Ian Garry
have vastly different views on how much authority women should
have.
Garry recently faced significant backlash for speaking about his
feminine side in an interview. “The Future†admitted to crying
while watching Disney movies and feeling more masculine by staying
in touch with his feminine side. Garry also said that the world
would be a better place with women running it and men simply
listening to them.
Islam Makhachev has hilarious reaction to UFC legend needing
wife's approval to go to Dagestan
Makhachev, although in jest, expressed opposite views on women
having authority. The
Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight champion invited
Demetrious
Johnson to Dagestan during a recent interview. When “Mighty
Mouse†expressed safety concerns, Makhachev assured him that
Dagestan is one of the safest places in the world.
Johnson then said that he would have to consult his wife on the
matter. Makhachev laughed in disbelief about the UFC Hall of Famer
having to take his wife's permission. Makhachev said that Johnson,
being one of the best fighters in history, merely has to inform his
wife, not take her permission.
“Talk to wife? Talk to wife?†Makhachev said. “You're the best
fighter in the world. You have to tell her. But not ask.â€
Makhachev (28-1) puts his welterweight title on the line against
Garry (17-1) in the main event of UFC
330 on Aug. 15 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.
🤔Ian Garry
says if women ruled the world everything would be better
“If the world was run by women, we'd all live in a better world. If
we just listened to them and let them takeover, it would be an
easier worldâ€
