Two world title fights have been added to the calendar of next month’s The Ring 6 boxing gala in Recent York, the main attraction of which will be the junior welterweight title clash between Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson on January 31 at Madison Square Garden.
WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames (24-1, 18 KO) will defend his title against Austin “Ammo” Williams (19-1, 13 KO), and WBC interim featherweight champion Bruce Carrington (16-0, 9 KO) will seek the vacant WBC title against Carlos Castro (30-3, 14 KO).
The card also announced a 140-pound fight between former lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis (13-0, 9 KO) and Jamaine Ortiz (20-2-1, 10 KO), as well as a heavyweight fight between Jarrell Miller (26-1-2, 22 KO) and Kingsley Ibeh (16-2-1, 14 KO), as well as a welterweight matchup featuring Ziyad Almaayouf (7-0-1, 1 KO) and Kevin Castillo (5-2-1).
Adames hasn’t fought in almost a year after drawing to Hamzeh Sheeraz in February, while Williams has won three straight fights since an 11th-round loss to Shareez in 2024.
Davis last fought in February, when he crushed Denys Berinchyk via fourth-round KO to win the WBO lightweight title. He was scheduled to defend the belt in June, but he exceeded the 135-pound weight limit by more than four pounds, forcing the WBO to strip him of the title and ultimately cancel his scheduled fight against Edwin De Los Santos. Ortiz has won three straight fights after losing a unanimous decision to Lopez in February 2024.
Carrington – nicknamed “Shu Shu” – outclassed Mateus Heita by unanimous decision in July. Castro’s last fight was in September 2024, losing by decision to Stephen Fulton.
Miller – also known as “Huge Baby” – fought to a majority draw against former heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr. in August 2024. He has not fought since. Ibeh defeated veteran Gerald Washington via third-round KO in September.
Lopez (22-1, 13 KO) will defend his WBO junior welterweight title for the fourth time against undefeated Stevenson (24-0, 11 KO), who is climbing to first place in the ESPN lightweight division rankings.
The event airs nationally on DAZN.
