Jermaine Franklin WARNS Moses Itauma: I’ve never been in deep water
Jermaine Franklin warned Moses Itauma that he would be taking him into uncharted territory during Saturday’s clash.
Itauma will face tough American Franklin live at the Co-op in Manchester, live on DAZN.
Itauma went through the early stages of his professional career, eliminating former world title challenger Dillian Whyte in the first round in August, improving their undefeated record to 13-0.
The guy took both Whyte and Anthony Joshua defeat distance and has never been stopped in his 26-fight professional career.
“989 Assassin” promised to take the highly touted 21-year-old into “deep waters” in a 10-round heavyweight bout.
“He’s never been in deep water,” the 32-year-old said DAZN.
“So it will be different territory for him.
“I was in deep water several times.
“So I know what it’s like, how it feels, so I think going out into the deep end benefits me more.
“Your body reacts differently when you get tired in the later rounds.
“I know how to throw punches in the later rounds.
“I know how to set things up in the later rounds.”
The Michigan fighter has won three times since losing to Joshua, beating Ivan Dychko by unanimous decision in September.
Itauma is the number one contender for both Fabio Wardley’s WBO heavyweight title and Oleksandr Usyk’s WBA crown.
A clash with Wardley, who will defend his belt against Daniel Dubois on May 9, is practically out of the question, as both fighters are trained by Ben Davison.
Usyk, who will defend his WBC title against former kickboxing champion Rico Verhoeven on May 23 in Egypt, has rejected a fight with the rising Briton.

“I don’t want to fight Itauma because he’s a juvenile guy,” said the 39-year-old Inside the Ring.
“I don’t want to break this guy.
“He’s a guy like me.
“Rico, this is a first.
“Secondly, who will win [between] Wardley-Dubois i [the] the third fight is my friend, “Greedy Belly” Tyson Fury.

Jaron Ennis is the bookmakers’ main favorite to defeat Xander Zayas in their highly anticipated world title clash on Saturday in Brooklyn.
Ennis challenges Zayas for the WBO and WBA super welterweight belts at the Barclays Center live on DAZN pay-per-view.
The undefeated resident of Philadelphia enters the game as the favorite on February 11 Bet365 give the 23-year-old his first professional defeat and become world champion in two weight categories.

On Wednesday, Lewis Crocker heads to Australia to defend his IBF welterweight world title against Liam Paro for the first time.
Crocker will face Paro at the Pat Rafter Arena in Queensland, live on DAZN in the UK and Kayo Sports in Australia.
Crocker (22-0, 11 KO) became world champion in September, defeating Paddy Donovan twice before winning the rematch by split decision.
Man from Belfast recorded his second victory over Donovan after the first victory in March last year, and his rival was disqualified for hitting him after the bell.
Paro (27-1, 16 KO) is trying to become a world champion in two weight categories, having previously reigned in the super-lightweight division.
The 30-year-old won the title with a unanimous decision victory over Subriel Matias in Puerto Rico before winning the belt in his first defense against Richardson Hitchins.
The Australian has since won twice, overtaking David Papot in his last appearance in September.
McKean meets Taliva
Heavyweight Demsey McKean will look to continue his rebuild when he faces Liam Talivaa for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific title.
McKean (24-2, 16 KO) had his career cut miniature after a last-round loss to Filip Hrgovic, followed by a brutal first-round loss to Moses Itauma.
