Sebastian Fundy will place his WBC Junior Medium Weight Championships on the line against Keith Thurman on October 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the sources confirmed ESPN on Thursday.
The Fundy-Thurman will serve as the main event “PBC on Prime” with O’Shaquie Foster, who defended his junior high school WBC Junior Lightweight against the former Super Bantameight titles holder and the current champion of WBC Feather Wweight, Stephen Fulton.
The fight for the championship between the fund and Thurman was previously confirmed by ESPN, but the date and place were not secured. Las Vegas will host Thurman’s pursuit to become a world champion with two divisions, the same city in which the fund entered in a miniature time to replace the injured Thurman and defeated Tim Tych to become the owner of WBC in 154 pounds.
Funder (23-1-1, 15 Kos), 27, successfully defended its title against Tim Tkom with a break in the seventh round in July on the undercard of the majority of Manny Pacquiao against Mario Barrios. The fight with Thurman will be the third defense of the title.
Thurman (31-1, 23 KO), 36, tried to keep health and fought only twice since he abandoned the decision of Pacquiao in 2019. In his only fight with 154 pounds at the beginning of this year Thurman knocked Brock Jarvis.
Apparently Foster (23-3, 13 KO) defended the title against Fulton in August at the proposed Pay-Per-View event, at the head of the rematch between Gervont Davis and Lamont Roach. The fight did not bring implementation when Davis decided to face Jake Paul in November. 31-year-old Foster will have the opportunity to defend his title on a different salary with an opponent who runs the Third World Championships in three different weight classes.
Fulton (23-1, 8 KO) will transfer another weight class after defeating Brandon Figueroa by a unanimous decision with the title of WBC Feather Wweight in February. Fighting with Philadelphia, Fulton was a united champion in Super Bantamweight, until he suffered his only defeat with a fighter No. 2 pounds behind the leave, Nayya Inoue, in July 2023 WBC will allow Fulton to keep his title weight in a featherweight, at the same time the challenge of Foster.
There will also be a duel between Jesus Ramos (22-1, 18 Kos) and Shane Mosley Jr. (22-4, 12 Kos) for the ephemeral title WBC Middle I gain and former super Welter Welter Waiteight Tony Harrison (30-4-1, 21 Kos) with the invincible Isaac Lucero (17-0, 13 Kos) on 160 pounds.
