Floyd Mayweather vs Magarito WBN

Floyd Mayweather did not want to be beaten with gloves loaded with plaster, so he never agreed to face Antonio Margarito.

The boxing legend discussed the opportunity to face Margarito during his perfection when there were opponents Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao. Mayweather was afraid of walking where they did his rivals after Margarito was suspended for a year in the controversy of gloves.

Shane Mosley’s coach, Naazim Richardson, said Margarito has a substance similar to “Paris plaster” in hand compresses before the combat of welterweight in 2009. The Mexican lost the fight, but was examined for what was discovered in the wardrobe.

Similar findings of “loaded gloves” destroyed his fight with Miguel Cotto at MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, six months earlier. However, after raising the ban, Pacquiao laid the twelve round on Margarito in 2010.

Beatdown was emitted live on HBO PPV, because Pacquiao won the most unanimous decision for a great WBC semi -light.

Cotto will take revenge in the rematch in 2011.

In the next fight, Floyd fought Mosley before one -half year. There was never a question whether he would face Margarito. After what happened in Mosley and Cotto duels, Mayweather never threw ankle against “Tijuana Tornado” during her career.

Instead of Mayweather vs. Margarito “Money” faced Judah for the title of IBF welterweight and added the WBC crown against Carlos Baldomir. Then he signed the fight of Oscar de la Hoya and fought Ricky Hatton in the period preceding the Margarito offense.

Mayweather finally agreed to the record agreement of Showtime in 2011. After public breaking the bind with Bob Arum and the highest in the morning.

In an interview with Fighthipe, Mayweather was asked if he regretted that he did not agree to fight Antonio Margarito when his name appeared. Mayweather replied honestly.

“My career went as it went, so if God wanted me to fight someone, I would fight anyone who wanted me to fight,” explained the former weight master in weight.

“God chose warriors whom I wanted to fight. When you look back at my career, you must say that I will beat more Hall of Famers than anyone else in boxing.

“[But Margarito] He cheated, defeating fighters with a glove cast. I didn’t want it to happen to me, so it didn’t happen – he added.

Margarito retired from boxing with eyes problems after the controversial victory over the deceased Carson Jones in 2017.
