Eumir Marcial, once marked as the next manna Pacquiao, revealed his low point after a challenging defeat at the Olympic Games in Paris 2024.
The bronze Olympic medalist in 2020 returned a professional in December 2020, but the recent rules allowed Marcial to compete again four years later.
In the face of Turrabek Khabibullaeva in medium weight in round 16, everything went wrong for MP Promotions Fighter.
Uzbek was far too good, dominating in battle and winning 5-0. The loss left Marcial in the wrong place almost immediately.
He said: “My combat spirit never hesitated to the Philippines. I am devastated and I have no words.
“This is a hard loss and I don’t know how to explain it to all Filippians who believed and supported me.”
Since then, Marcial described in detail how much the failure influenced him when his professional career stopped for over a year.
“It was an exhaustive journey with challenges; a departure from a professional boxing for over a year and a confrontation with reality from my Olympic task,” he said.
“I fought with my personal demons depression, which almost stopped me from my feet constantly in the ring.”
Ironically, the Mentor Pacquiao’s return was used by the fire. Pacquiao even added a Philippine star to his recurring Podkard on July 19.
“Here I am ready to fight, all thanks to those who have never left my corner,” said Marcial.
“I owe my revival and this chance to fight the legendary manna Pacquiao, a man I dreamed of watching the fight.
“Finally, I am begging you to support all my other Filipinos in the upcoming fight.
“I would be honored that you comforted me during this significant chapter of my life. Let’s do a story together!”
Pacquiao challenges Mario Barrios to the WBC welterweight title at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. At the age of 46, “Pac-Man” tries to make history once again when he inspires the next generation.
Marcial will be part of this when he fights with Alexis Gaytan in part without payments at the sight of the most significant boxing masters on the basic PPV video card.
The victory over Gaytan in Pacquiao vs Barrios pushes Marcial to 6-0 as a professional, when a talented boxer pushes ranking titles over the next twelve months.
When it comes to his amateur career, it is unlikely that Eumir Marcial plans to choose gold in the next matches in Los Angeles.
