Errol Spence Jr “could make a comeback” against the former world champion
Errol Spence Jr can finally return to the ring.
Spence Jr has not fought since a brutal ninth-round loss to Terence Crawford in their July 2023 undisputed welterweight title bout.
The former unified world champion never officially announced his retirement and was linked, among other things, to a clash with former stablemate Jermell Charlo.
“The Truth” told Fight Hub TV last month that he may fight again, and former world champion Tim Tszyu is another person linked to him.
Former world champion Paulie Malignaggi, who is currently in Australia for Tszyu’s brother Nikita’s fight against Michael Zerafa on Friday, said a Spence-Tszyu fight is potentially in the works.
“Before our appearance on the air, there was a rumor that it was Tim Tszyu vs. Errol Spence,” Malignaggi said The boxing scene.
“If such rumors arise, I wouldn’t put it beyond PBC’s offer [Jermell] Talk to Jaron Ennis.
Tszyu who was retired by WBC super welterweight champion Sebastian Fundora in the seventh round after a rematch in July, they returned to winning ways with a unanimous decision victory over Anthony Velazquez in December.
Both pairs have been linked to a showdown before, with Spence Jr stepping into the ring after Fundora defeated Tszyu in their first meeting in March 2024.
Tszyu has won two of his last five fights, coming off a third-round loss to IBF champion Bakhram Murtazaliev, who will defend his crown against Josh Kelly on January 31.
The 31-year-old Australian remains in the top ten of the IBF and WBC rankings.
George Rose, CEO of No Limit Boxing, which promotes Tszyu, revealed that they are planning his return in February.
“As soon as Tim is ready, we will go again,” he said The boxing scene.
“We were really interested in moving it to the end of February, but given that December had just ended and we had Christmas and Fresh Year, the timing wasn’t ideal.
– As soon as he’s ready to go.
“He did well after the last fight.
“He wants to be busy in 2026, he wants to re-establish his name in the division and then start clearing names.
“We will look for an opponent who will be one step ahead.
“We will announce who it will be soon.”

Jaron Ennis is the bookmakers’ main favorite to defeat Xander Zayas in their highly anticipated world title clash on Saturday in Brooklyn.
Ennis challenges Zayas for the WBO and WBA super welterweight belts at the Barclays Center live on DAZN pay-per-view.
The undefeated resident of Philadelphia enters the game as the favorite on February 11 Bet365 give the 23-year-old his first professional defeat and become world champion in two weight categories.

On Wednesday, Lewis Crocker heads to Australia to defend his IBF welterweight world title against Liam Paro for the first time.
Crocker will face Paro at the Pat Rafter Arena in Queensland, live on DAZN in the UK and Kayo Sports in Australia.
Crocker (22-0, 11 KO) became world champion in September, defeating Paddy Donovan twice before winning the rematch by split decision.
Man from Belfast recorded his second victory over Donovan after the first victory in March last year, and his rival was disqualified for hitting him after the bell.
Paro (27-1, 16 KO) is trying to become a world champion in two weight categories, having previously reigned in the super-lightweight division.
The 30-year-old won the title with a unanimous decision victory over Subriel Matias in Puerto Rico before winning the belt in his first defense against Richardson Hitchins.
The Australian has since won twice, overtaking David Papot in his last appearance in September.
McKean meets Taliva
Heavyweight Demsey McKean will look to continue his rebuild when he faces Liam Talivaa for the vacant IBF Pan Pacific title.
McKean (24-2, 16 KO) had his career cut miniature after a last-round loss to Filip Hrgovic, followed by a brutal first-round loss to Moses Itauma.
