Dmitryry Bivol “cool and impersonal” WBC letter leaked

Dmitryry Bivol sent the World Boxing Council letter explaining his decision to leave the lightweight heavyweight title.

Bivol’s activities took place a few hours before the undisputed champion on Tuesday’s handbag to face the mandatory contender David Benavidez.

The letter, sent by the lawyer Bivol, Patrick English to the former WBN writer, Dan Rafael, presents why the 34-year-old felt that he has no choice but to abandon the green and golden belt.

Worldboxingnews.com obtained a letter overdue on Monday as Bivol [24-1, 12 KOs] confirmed that he would focus on the trilogy with Artur Beterbal [21-1, 20 KOs] After their fight on February 22.

“April 7, 2025, dear President of Sulaiman: As you know, the office represents Dimitri Bivol. Mr. Bivol was placed in a situation where, unfortunately, he is forced to tell the title of the World Boxing Council.

“Everyone in boxing knows that there is a commitment for the third fight with Artur Beterbaview, generally considered the second best lightweight weight in boxing. We are working on consuming this fight.

“In addition, we are terrified by the inability to comply with the rotation system created many years ago. You are aware that IBF claims that it is the main organization, justifying, for the next Bivol.

“We want to be kind to people involved in the potential offer of a handbag planned for tomorrow. In this way we will notify you about the waiver of the belt before this time, so that people do not incur unnecessary travel expenses.

“Mr. Bivol appreciates such kindness of WBC as he has been awarded in the past.

“Regards, Patrick C. English.”

President of WBC Mauricio Sulaiman did not take a tone of the letter too kindly and expressed his feelings in this matter. In his answer, Sulaiman called the argument that IBF is another “amusing” for ending Bivol vs. Benavidez.

“I just received a cool and impersonal notification of lawyer Dmitry Biovol, Patrick English, with arguments that are so amusing that I would rather not discuss WBC informing that Dmitriry Bivol decided to give up his lightweight WBC championships.

“We wish Bivol’s success and hereby confirm David Benavidez as a heavyweight master WBC World Lightweight.”

Benavidez [30-0, 24 KOs] He raises the free WBC Lightweight Heavyweight and will have a grace period for his first defense against each in the top fifteen rankings. Despite the fact that Callum Smith was recognized as a potential pretender, nothing is yet in Liverpool stone.

The “Mexican monster” begins his third rule as a ruler after he was undressed twice in a super medium weight and never lost any titles inside the ring.

Turks Alalshikh will be expected to make a formal announcement of the trilogy match until the summer after Bivol equated with a series of two -fever according to the decision of the majority. He took revenge on Beterbaiew, doing exactly the same at the first meeting.

"Tim Bradley Urges Teofimo Lopez to Seize His Moment with Key Next Fight"

Timothy Bradley has urged Teofimo Lopez to face one man after dethroning Rolando Romero for the WBA welterweight strap.

‘The Takeover’ became a three-division world champion last weekend, claiming a majority decision victory over ‘Rolly’ in his first outing at 147lbs.

While Romero was always dangerous, and even hurt his man in round five, it was Lopez who ultimately proved the busier and more skilful operator.

As a result, the 29-year-old is now eager to secure unification matches against either Devin Haney, Liam Paro or the winner of Ryan Garcia vs Conor Benn, which takes place at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena on September 12.

At the same time, though, Lopez could soon be ordered to face mandatory challenger Jack Catterall, who claimed his WBA ‘regular’ title with a unanimous decision victory over Shakhram Giyasov in May.

Before that, WBA president Gilberto Mendoza had ruled that the winner would earn his shot at the full welterweight belt within 180 days of their contest taking place.

And while, admittedly, a title defence by November 19 seems entirely unrealistic, Bradley has nonetheless expressed his desire for Lopez to face leading contender Catterall.

“Teo, you gotta face Jack Catterall next. Yeah, you gotta honour that [mandatory duty]. You just got the belt, right? You gotta defend that title against Jack Catterall.

“He’s been waiting patiently, and it’s his time and his opportunity.”

While Catterall does, indeed, appear to be in a strong position with the WBA, Lopez’ manager Keith Connolly is actively exploring a route for the American to swerve his mandatory duty and chase more lucrative opportunities.

Terri Harper blasted out Miranda Reyes in two rounds to announce herself at super lightweight. Harper is aiming to win a world title in a fourth weight class and made the perfect start to life at 140 pounds.

A crushing right hand did the damage, with Reyes out of it when the referee stopped her on her feet.

A nervous Tysie Gallagher came through Brandi Robinson in a super bantamweight bout that could easily have been a draw. Gallagher got the nod after eight rounds 77-75 on the referee’s card after being warned more than once that she wasn’t doing enough.

Neeraj Goyatwho was once lined up to fight Amir Khan, secured a six-round points win over Yessin Koulali at super lightweight.

Scott Melvin recorded a sixth round stoppage over Dylan Cheema at lightweight. Melvin’s C.V. reads 13-1 after inflicting a fouth defeat on Cheema.

Shannon Courtenay and Ebony Cotton fought to a draw over six rounds. The former WBA bantamweight champion and Cotton battled to a stalemate despite Courtenay seemingly doing enough.

Referee Chris Dean scored the contest 57-57 as Courtenay moved to 11-3-1, while Cotton is now 2-2-1.

Gemma Richardson got the victory against Kirstie Bavington via a six-round decision. The super lightweight made it five straight victories with an assured performance against the game Bavington.

Uddin defeated Jemsi Kibazange at flyweight, while Bethell scored a decision over Jorge Huerta in the super lightweight division.
