Deontay Wilder names the opponents he wants in dangerous two fight plan: “I’ve called my manager”

Deontay Wilder is starting to put together a plan to return to boxing at the highest level in the heavyweight division.

Defeats to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang left many with the feeling that the 40-year-old Wilder was approaching retirement, but he returned this year with a straight victory over Tyrell Herndon, promising large fights in 2026.

Those plans were recently given a boost when unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk revealed Wilder was on his hit list, and teams have already started talks to make it happen.

Shortly after the event, Wilder publicly faced British fan favorite Derek Chisora. Telling about the incident from Talking about cigarsrevealed that he is now targeting this fight before challenging Usyk.

“It’s true. It could be a real fight. You know what? I thought, ‘let him be a warm-up for the Usyk fight’. I love it.”

Wilder – who said the Chisora fight was 90% agreed before talks ended – spoke highly of the fight.

“If you know Derek, you know he’s not a pushover. You’re not going to bully him. His mentality is that of an alpha male. And when you go up against another alpha male, that’s a problem. It’s like two gorillas.”

“When he came over, he basically sized me up. He put his forehead to mine and started pushing, and I was like, ‘Wait, bro, what do you think?’ I had to show him that, too. The security started to get out of control.” [stepped in]. This is a good start, regardless of what may happen. I called my manager, he called his manager. They contacted the phone.

Chisora has 49 fights in his professional campaignand is looking for the perfect dance partner for number 50. The trilogy with Dillian Whyte did not come to fruition, but it can be revisited. “Del Boy” may also consider a top IBF fighter given his favorable position in the rankings. Wilder doesn’t provide that, but he does provide star power and, in the eyes of many, a favorable fight.

Radivoje Kalajdzic improved to 31-3 with a unanimous decision over Craig Richards, who dropped to 20-5-1 after a good ten-round scrap.
