De la Hoya paints Haney’s fight as a mask for maintaining fear after Garcia’s “knockout”

Promoter Oscar de la Hoya says Devin Haney wanted “Test water” Against Jose Ramirez, before he faced Ryan Garcia in the rematch on May 2, because he was “knocked out” in the previous fight on April 20.

Although technically Haney (31-0, 15 KO) lost to Ryan on the basis of a major-bearing majority decision, de la Hoya sees it as a knockout.

Avoiding a rematch

Haney can live to regret the fight against Ramirez instead of going straight to the rematch with Ryan. Ramirez is still fighting near the level at which he was previously in his career and his power still exists. While he lost his last fight with Arnold Barboza Jr., the fight was a narrow 10-round decision. De la Hoya says Haney will find out that Ramirez is still “perilous” and this fight will be a disaster for him.

Haney returns after a defeat with the still perilous former WBC HEAVIE MASTER and WBO RAMIZEM (29-2, 18 KOS) at Ryan Garcia vs. Rolando “Rolly” Romero Uncard at the fatal event of Fury Fury in Up-to-date York. The event will be shown live in Dazn PPV.

One of the reasons may be the way judge Harvey Dock stopped the action in the seventh round to punish Garcia without warning for hitting the break. It was a peculiarity, and the judge did not turn to his excessive farm. It seemed that the judge saved Haney himself from some knockout failure.

The whole thing seemed very strange. It can be said that without a judge stopping the action to punish Garcia, he would end Haney, who was on his legs after dropping.

“Knockout”?

“Devin Haney does not want to go back against Ryan Garcia after knocking them out,” said Oscar de la Hoya, promoter Golden Boy to Dazn Boxing, asked why we do not see Ryan Garcia vs. Devin Haney 2 May. “This is not in a manual book to promote fights or does not have a manual warrior in the book, in which after you were knocked out, you fight the same guy again.

“You must have a fight between Devin to make sure that he is fine. What if [Jose] Ramirez jumps with a shot and he is swayed and he is knocked out? It can happen, “said De la Hoya.

“It would be a disaster,” said Ariel Helwani.

“I think Devin wanted to test the water against Ramirez, thinking that Ramirez is not perilous, but guess what? He is perilous, “said de la Hoya smiling.

Hrgovic claims Dave Allen has a ‘loser mentality’

Image: Filip Hrgovic Says Dave Allen Has “Loser Mentality”

Hrgovic strongly disagreed and mocked Allen’s approach to the fight while discussing his opponent.

“Yes, that’s his loser mentality. That’s what he achieved throughout his career. That’s why he suffered 10 defeats and I suffered one defeat,” Hrgovic told iFL TV.

“It’s just an underdog mentality. I just take the pressure off myself like, ‘I’m a Doncaster boy.’ I’m here to fight the good fight. I don’t have to win. It puts pressure on him.”

“You know, it’s a loser’s mentality. So OK, I’ll take the pressure. I have to win. I’m a winner.

“He always had this mentality. ‘I’m fat. I don’t train. I don’t need to win. I’m tiny’. Come on, man. Don’t make excuses your whole life. Just train, be professional and go for the win.

“I expect him to be the best version of himself because this is a huge opportunity for him and it’s his hometown. I expect him to be in good shape.

“I think I’m definitely a tougher fight for him than Zhang. Zhang is aged, aged.

“I can also be fat if I don’t train and if I drink beer. I can be fat and be a journeyman and come to every fight and just say, ‘I don’t have to win.’ I’m here to fight the good fight. “

“I think I’m better. I’m faster. I’m better in all aspects of the fight. But you know, it’s heavyweight boxing. Anything can happen and he’s a brave guy. He always comes forward and steps up to the fight. So I think it’ll be a good fight.”

Hrgovic comes into the fight after a tough recent run that has included physical fights with Daniel Dubois, Joe Joyce and David Adeleye. He defeated Joyce and Adeleye after losing to Dubois, with both victories coming after tough rounds and bulky rallies.

The fight will be the main event of Saturday’s heavyweight gala in Doncaster.

If Oleksandr Usyk loses to Verhoeven, he will immediately be stripped of his world title

Oleksandr Usyk will immediately be stripped of world title if he loses to Verhoeven

The situation surrounding all of Oleksandr Usyk’s world champion titles has already been determined before his fight with kickboxer Rico Verhoeven.

The WBC controversially put its belt on the line before this fight, meaning that Verhoeven, despite having little or no chance of winning, could win the belt in May 23 in Egypt.

The WBA announced today that the fight will count as a successful world title defense if Usyk wins, but the challenger will not be able to claim the belt, even if it causes seismic shocks. If this happens, a committee will meet on next steps.

The IBF has taken a similar stance, but while Verhoeven cannot win that title either, the sanctioning body will immediately declare the heavyweight belt vacant if Usyk loses.

The conditions under which Usyk can fight to remain champion are as follows:

1. If Usyk loses on May 23, 2026, the IBF heavyweight title will be immediately declared vacant.

2. If Usyk wins on May 23, 2026, the IBF will recognize the WBC’s position in the rotation and will order an IBF mandatory fight for one hundred and eighty (180) days thereafter.

3. If the WBA grants special permission, the IBF will recognize the WBA’s position in the rotation and order an IBF mandatory fight for one hundred and eighty (180) days thereafter.

4. The IBF reserves the right to change the mandatory deadline in the event of significant delays in the rotation.

After the fight with Verhoeven, Usyk will be ordered to face WBC mandatory Agit Kabayel, and promoter Frank Warren is sure that he will be stripped of the belt if he does not fulfill his obligation.
