Trainer Bernie “Tha Boxer” Davis tells Terence Crawford “rejected” offer to fight Jake Paul. He says they didn’t mean to “pay him enough” which amounted to $100 million.
That’s the same $100 million that Bernie says Crawford wants for his rematch with Canelo Alvarez. He doesn’t say how much Jake Paul offered Crawford, but it wasn’t enough for him to say yes.
Paul’s fight with Anthony Joshua will take place on December 19. It is said that he will receive $80 million for this fight. If a similar amount were offered to Crawford, it would show how much his price has increased since earning $50 million for his victory over undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo on September 13, 2025.
Turki Alalshikh was the reason why Terence got so much money. Without him, the fight between Crawford and Canelo would have made them significantly less money
“He told me he turned it down. “I don’t think they want to pay him enough,” coach Bernie Davis said MillCity Boxing about Terence Crawford turning down a fight with Jake Paul.
“It’s $100 [million]. They definitely won’t pay him 100 to get his ass kicked because Crawford doesn’t know how to play any role. Doesn’t know how to run any script. He doesn’t know how to do it. So Jake Paul would get his ass kicked,” Davis said of Team Paul.
Is Crawford worth $100 million? His history of PPV events has produced disappointing numbers.
Crawford’s PPV Story
- Israil Madrimov – 200,000 purchases on DAZN and ESPN
- Errol Spence – 700,000 on Showtime
- David Avanesyan – 120,000 on BLK Prime
- Shawn Porter – 190,000 on ESPN
- Amir Khan – 200,000 on ESPN
- Wiktor Postoł – 60,000 on HBO
Crawford’s fight with Canelo brought in 41,400,000 views on Netflix, but you could argue that was because of the Mexican star.
“So if they want to come up with that $100 million, OK. They didn’t want to come. So at the same time you have a guy like Bud Crawford. You’re trying to get him to do it. Why? He won’t do it. Who do you think you are? I just beat Canelo,” Bernie said.
Crawford will miss out on a lot of nice paydays if he insists on giving him $100 million for the fight because he’s not huge enough without Canelo. It was Jake Paul who was supposed to win over fans, not Crawford.
“I’m stuffed. I’m doing my world tour now. I’m not going to take part in any clown show, no circus. I’ve beaten [fighters] Really. I’m not going to do that. I’m still relaxing. Come correct. I’m not saying it was disrespectful to Crawford. He’s a huge name in the boxing world. He is the face of boxing. I think it was unrealistic for them at the time. To try and cram it into this little moment. No, Davis said.
