The fight will be Benn’s first fight since leaving Matchroom Boxing and signing with Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing on an eight-figure, one-fight deal. It also marks his return to the welterweight division after two middleweight fights against Chris Eubank Jr. in 2025.
Benn (24-1, 14 KO) earns a dominant unanimous decision over Eubank Jr. November rematch in the same placewinning by scores of 119-107, 118-108 and 116-110 after two knockdowns in the twelfth round. The WBC organization recognized him as a mandatory challenger for the welterweight title won by Ryan Garcia against Mario Barrios in February.
“April 11 can’t come soon enough, being back at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium where I made history against Eubank Jr means everything to me,” said Benn. “My last fight showed the world exactly who I am and what I’m about. Fighting on the biggest stages, in the biggest galas, I’m not afraid of anyone! I’m completely introverted and ready to give another performance.”
Prograis (30-3, 24 KO), a 37-year-old fighter from Novel Orleans, was the WBA super lightweight champion in 2019 and the WBC 140-pound belt in 2022-2023. Twenty-four of his 30 victories ended in stoppages.
Prograis wasted no time in firing shots during the co-main event announcement. “The last time I fought in London, Conor Benn was on my tender card, so this is a full-circle moment for me,” Prograis said. “But this cycle will end when I teach him a lesson on April 11. He won’t fight against some worn-out super middleweight. I’m in shape and I’ll bring home this victory.”
The reference dates back to October 2019, when Benn stopped Steve Jamoye in four rounds on the Prograis card. World Boxing Super Series final against Josh Taylor at the O2 Arena.
