The well -known coach Eddy Reynoso fiercely defended his reputation after he was drawn into a doping scandal with the participation of the Mexican warrior Francisco “Chihuas” Rodriguez.
Rodriguez analytically tested a positive result in terms of the prohibited substance after his stunning victory over the Golden Olympic medalist of Yafai Galale in June, as revealed in a boxing match.
A few hours earlier, a Reynoso photo with Rodriguez appeared, and speculation exploded online. When the picture became popular, some falsely suggested that the coach was involved in the preparation of the boxer.
Full reinoso statement
Reynoso, known for his mastery of the creation of Canelo Alvarez, responded directly to the allegations on Thursday with a full statement under his brand “No Boxing, No Life”.
“Considering the last comments and speculation about my relationship with the Francisco boxer” Chihuas “Rodriguez, the following should be explained:
“First of all, I am not a coach or manager Francisco, whom I had the pleasure personally.
“The support he received concerned the promotion and sponsorship of the No Boxing No Life brand, which organized three fights with Clash y Talento to support him achieve the fight for the championship.”
Refusing guilt by the Association
With regard to the allegations of the Reynoso association, he added: “I devoted almost all my life to boxes, because this is my passion and reason for being; everything I achieved consisted of sacrifice, discipline and sacrifice.
“In the way we supported Francisco, we supported many warriors and we will do it until God will allow us.
“As for the positive test result in his recent fight, Francisco will have to make appropriate explanations about the same.
“I had no participation in this fight, nor was it present in it; that’s why I will not comment on it. To Francisco, all our support and that he can overcome this obstacle.”
Earlier links to doping
Having links to five boxers who have positively tested, Reynoso will beat the reputation. Rodriguez follows Jaime Munguia, Julio Cesar Martinez, Ryan Garcia and himself Canelo Alvarez.
Reynoso explains that it has nothing to do with the preparations of Chihuas.
“I consider it unfair that for appearing in the photo supporting Francisco Rodriguez, they want to pull me responsible for situations outside my work.
“As a trainer or manager, I have nothing to do with the nutrition plans of my fighters. I do not cook for fighters, I do not buy them food, I do not give them supplements, I do not recommend supplements and I certainly do not give them forbidden substances.
“I support drug testing and immaculate boxing and I hope that everyone I work with share the same values.
“I am very grateful to professional media that examined deeply and who reported facts about me,” he concluded.
Supporting anti -doping
Reynoso statement is an apparent attempt to distance himself from any implications that his gym culture writes or promotes drug exploit that increases performance.
Its reference to “pure boxing” confirms its long -term position to support anti -doping and VADA tests.
For now, Rodriguez is examined as a result of the fight with Yafai hanging in balance.
