Canelo learned about the title in a circulatory weight shot in social media – he still said “yes”
Published
1 year agoon
Canelo Alvarez told WBN that he had no idea that his long -time coach Eddy Reynoso asked for the title of master of the cruiser – until he saw him in social media.
And so he would fight.
Reynoso surprises the WBC convention
Reynoso got up to feel his presence at the convention and asked publicly if Canelo could try in Junior Macabu, Master at that time November 2021.
Makabu had a queue at the beginning of 2022, but Reynoso hoped to assemble Canelo vs macabu during the Cinco de Mayo weekend this year.
Despite the nature of the request, the 168-Funt champion to escalate 32 pounds, the Committee of the World Council of the Boxing Council agreed to move.
The master present in the building that day launched a warning for Canelo.
Macabre accepts and fires a warning
WBC said: “Yes, I accept the fight. When I received these messages from my manager and president, I said:” Wow, it’s something good. “
“Canelo is now the best boxer on the planet. So I want to fight the best and I accept, but there will be no recall this fight.
“I think Canelo makes a large mistake that she will regret. I will leave with all the glory.
“Canelo wants to prove to people that he can do better than others, and I am very prepared to try this dream. But I have my story to write down.
“Yes, this is boxing. I lost to Tony Bellew, but I came back. Now I am telling you a hundred percent. I will throw away Canelo.”
Canelo finds out in social media
Canelo learned about approval in social media before Reynoso called him later to confirm that WBC had approved the application.
“I didn’t even know about it,” Alvarez told Dan Rafael only in December 2021 in an interview with World Boxing News. “I heard about it in social media, what Eddy did.
“I didn’t even know about it,” he added, laughing. “
Regardless of whether the fight against Junior Macabian, the master at that time at the end of 2021, was realistic for 2022, Canelo replied: “As always, I say, if Eddy says something or tries to do something crazy, I am always in him. I am his warrior.
“Later he called me and said:” Ok, whatever you want. I never thought (about the balance of circuit room). Eddy always thinks about it, but I never thought about it.
“Then people on social media began to set up films and everything. That’s why I saw him in battle. But never before (or I didn’t hear about him). I really don’t care. I am a warrior.”
Clash in the scale of the cruiser never materialized
WBC forced Canelo vs. Macabre, which took place in May 2022 in order to obtain the title of circuitous weight.
However, Canelo and Reynoso changed their minds about the fight. They moved in a different direction, perhaps because of the lack of interest in the fight against Las Vegas.
The pound star finally chose and lost to the owner of WBA titles Dmitry Bivol.
The fight in the circuitous weight is probably for Canelo before retiring, which YouTuber Jake Paul hopes to provide.
Paul Ranks #14, Eyes Canelo
Paul, present Number 14 WBA ranking In the division, he still calls Canelo to a noisy battle.
After defeating the former opponent Canelo, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. On June 28, Paul answered a question about the undisputed king of super medium weight.
“He is (Canelo) without leaving the picture. I think that when I get the belts, I will want to fight for the championship in the circuitous weight and add this belt to my CV.
“I think he would become a champion of four or five in the amount. I think that it would be what interests him and this is a plan.”
Paul’s interest in facing Canelo about the title of weight in the circuit scale evokes memories when Canelo informed WBN that he has no idea that Reynoso would ask for the title of Cruiser weight at the WBC 2021 convention.
The Mexican Supergivid, which fights with Terenka Crawford on September 13, is consistently associated with the fight in the 200-pound division.

Oscar Collazo drops Valdez three times before stopping him in the corner

Oscar Collazo remained undefeated and won the WBO International flyweight title on Saturday night with a devastating two-round victory over Neider Valdez.
The unified WBA, WBO and Ring Magazine minimumweight champion improved to 15-0 with 12 knockouts after defeating Valdez three times before Mexico’s corner stopped the fight at 2:35 of the second round.
Making his final appearance at 112 pounds, Collazo showed his strength immediately transferred to the upper division, defeating Valdez from the opening bell at Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, California.
The Puerto Rican striker repeatedly found a home for his left hand and left no doubt about the outcome before the fight was called off.
“I felt great at 112 pounds. I love this division. In fact, I want to stay here for a long time,” Collazo said.
Knockdowns
Collazo admitted that he had already called for the fight to be stopped.
“After the third knockdown I was basically saying, ‘Never again, never again’. It was the right decision for his safety. His corner was well checked.
The victory added another belt to Collazo’s collection and enhanced his growing reputation as one of boxing’s most invigorating champions in the lower weight division.
Looking ahead, Collazo has made it clear who he wants next.
“The fight with Ricardo Sandoval definitely interests me. I really want that fight. I’m ready for gigantic fights. I’m ready to make history. That’s the fight I want next.”
Sandoval currently holds the WBA flyweight title, making this one of the most attractive fights available if Collazo continues his climb in weight.
The event was broadcast live on DAZN and was promoted by Golden Boy Promotions in partnership with Miguel Cotto Promotions.
