Hall of Fame promoter, Bob Arum, stunned the fans of fighting the stunning memory of what took place after one of the most legendary boxing-three thrill duels in Manila.
In an interview with Fight Hub tv about this event in the re-processing of the film, the 93-year-old founder of the highest class described the celebration of the wild Pidda style in the hotel after the brutal victory of Muhammad Ali over Joe Frazier in 1975.
Refusing ARUM
“The fight ended at 11 am, and we went outside, and there was the sun, you saw the sun,” said Arum. “And we all returned to the Filipino rural hotel and we had an orgy for two days. I never fucked so many women in my life in one tiny time, I’m sorry.”
A voice from the camera is heard before he said: “Get out of here!” – But Arum has doubled.
“In this way I remember a thrill in Manila,” he added, unfiltrated.
The inexpressible fight, which took place at the Araneum Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City, October 1, 1975, was the third and last installment about the multi-story competition of Alia-Frazier.
Legendary “Thrilla in Manila”
He fought in heated heat in front of the global audience, the penalty of 14-round war ended when Frazier’s coach Eddie Futch, refused to continue his warrior, handing Ali a victory in what the master described later as “the closest thing to death.”
Arum worked with Don King as a growing box in boxing. The lawyer with Harvard’s education was less than a decade in his career in sport, but Thrilla in Manila helped strengthen his reputation as the main player on the world stage.
What happened, however, sounds more like a scene from a rock tour of the 70s than boxing after the party.
While Arum has never avoided controversial sounds, the latest revelation of the promoter adds another layer to the most multi -story boxing struggle and confirms that for those involved, memories go far beyond the ring.
