Trainer Bernie Davis says all promoter Eddie Hearn needs to build Jaron ‘Boots’ is for Ennis to employ Terence Crawford’s name as a promotional tool. Ennis (35-0, 31 KO) hasn’t beaten anyone, and when he had the opportunity to fight Crawford, he chose not to.

Crawford’s name used as marketing fuel

Davis notes that “Boots” has done nothing in his career to become the star he should have been because he turned down the biggest fights offered to him. So all his Matchroom promoter Hearn has to do is artificially pump him up by dropping the Bud Crawford name. That’s not how you do it if you’re real.

“The only thing they can hang their hat on is Crawford,” coach Bernie Davis said MillCity Boxing about promoter Eddie Hearn who only has Terence Crawford’s name to try and build the popularity of Jaron “Boots” Ennis since he has done nothing in his career.

A star manufactured, not created

What Davis says rings true 100%. Hearn has nothing to promote Ennis other than using Crawford’s name to gain advantage. There’s nothing on “Boots'” empty resume that would make him a star, and he’ll soon be 29 years aged.

“I had to let him know I wasn’t playing. I had to make a statement. If it had gone on any longer, they would have had something to say,” Jaron “Boots” told Ennis YSM sports mediareflecting on his victory over Uisma Lima.

Fans laugh as Ennis boasted about his hollow victory over Lima a worthless victory. No one had heard of this player, and he looked like someone brought him in to make “Boots” look better than he actually was. For Ennis to brag about winning shows just how underachieving he is.

“They can’t say anything. I took him in the first round. I called everyone out. The ball is in their court. I did what I had to do,” Ennis said.

A middleweight move could save his career

If “Boots” had moved up to middleweight, where he should have been in the first place, he wouldn’t have had to call anyone out. He would have many top fighters in this weight class wanting to fight him. But after 154 years, he won’t be able to get the fights he wants unless Hearn overpays his opponents. He won’t do it.

Radivoje Kalajdzic improved to 31-3 with a unanimous decision over Craig Richards, who dropped to 20-5-1 after a good ten-round scrap.
