Norair Mikaeljan forced Badou Jack into potential retirement when he won the Swede’s WBC cruiserweight title in a rematch with a scorecard win in Los Angeles.
Jack and Michelin met in Riyad in May, where there was no choice between them, with Jack (29-4-3, KO17) emerging as the winner by majority decision with just one round on two cards, with a third card drawn.

This time the winner was Mikaeljan (28-3, KO12).
Mikaelian handled the close opening better, but Jack landed a nice left hook in the second that caught the attention of the challengers and the pair got heated by the end of the frame.
Jack hurt his opponent in the third period with a lot of punches and in the fourth he did well on the counterattack, but Mikaelian began to prepare for his task, working on the body and finding success inside, but in the seventh set he was deducted a point for a blow to the back of the head.
Jack returned the favor a round later for the stoppage punch as the fight turned into a brawl, the two fighting after the bell and Mikaelian now starting to pick apart the champion, focusing on the body to drain Jack’s energy going into the championship rounds.
Mikaelian finished the match strongly and it looked like his efforts in the second half would be rewarded with the title, which they rightly were.
Two scores of 116-110 and a third score of 115-111 made Mikaelian the novel champion.
Brook Sibrian vs. Gloria Munguilla
The card was headlined by the vacant WBC International delicate heavyweight title fight, and Brook Sibrian (9-2, KO4) gained revenge on Gloria Munguilla (8-3, KO0) by winning the rematch by majority decision.
The card drawn 95-95 was rejected by the scores 97-93 and 96-94 in favor of Sibrian.
