Promoter Eddie Hearn says that he is interested in establishing a fight between Jaron “Boots” Ennis and the WBO Junior Master of Medium Libra Xander Zayas.
Zayas and Ennis: Interest
Hearn states that he talked to the highest rank about cooperation with them in the fight of Xander’s Homecoming this year in Puerto Rico. If Zayas wins this fight, and Ennis (34-0, 30 KO) will win in his match next month against Uisma Loma, then Hearn wants to negotiate the fight Zayas-Annis.
Hearn says that he hoped that at the beginning of 2026 he received a fight between “boots” and Vergil Ortiz Jr., but did not receive any contact from Vergil promoters at Golden Boy. So now he doubts that they are interested in fighting. Zayas is a fighter who he thinks wants to fight with Ennis.
Lima problem
Again, this will require both Ennis and Zayas won the next fights. As Hearn notes, “Boots” before him fights Lima (14-1, 10 KO) on October 11, 2025 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. It will be Ennis’s debut at 154. Lima takes #9 IBF, #9 WBA and #9 WBC.
Hearn is also interested in these two fights for Ennis:
- Bakhram Murzazzereev: IBF 154-LB Champion
- Terenca Crawford: WBA Master
Zayas -nnis
“I believe Xander Zayas wants to fight. We talked to the highest rank, he can cooperate with the fact that he gives him a return home in Puerto Rico, and then fight “shoes”. We are for that. Shoes against Xander Zayas, what a fight, “said Eddie Hearn supervisor to Chris Mannix canal About his interest in establishing a fight between Jaron “Boots” Ennis and the WBO Junior Master of Medium Weight Xander Zayas.
The fight between Ennis and Zayas would be captivating because it would match two excellent boxers. This would allow Zayas to show fans that he is not afraid to make risky fights and that he is not carefully maneuvering, artificial master, as many he think.
Hearn did not say who he would apply from his stable match as an opponent of 23-year-old Zayas to make his first defense of his WBO 154-lb title against December in Puerto Rico.
Murtazaliev’s path to Ennis
“So you have [Bakhram] Murtazaliev talks about the fight with Josh Kelly in December. All right [Ennis] Fight him too. The winner of “Boots against Lima will be a mandatory claimant for Terenka Crawford. We now know that he may be unlikely to return to 154, but who knows?”
The fight between Ennis and IBF 154-LB champion Bakhram Murtazaliev (23-0, 17 KO) would be thrilling for fans. Jaron would have the opportunity to show people what he could do against a warrior who destroyed the former WBO Master Junior Middle weight Tim Tsyzu by knockout of the third round on October 19, 2024.
WBA title situation
If WBA is ahead of his title because of his abandonment, Ennis and WBA master Abass Baraou can fight for a free belt. The raising of Abassa to the WBA master would also work, allowing Ennis to fight for the belt, and did not receive the title because he won the IBF welterweight belt on November 9, 2024.
“” Shoes “against Crawford is another fantastic fight. So the only thing you don’t have to worry about, shoes is that he will fight anyone. Go through Lima, which will be hard. This guy comes to fight. Do it and then we will fight absolutely everyone, “said Hearn,
Win or lose to Canelo Alvarez on Saturday, it is unlikely that Crawford will return to 154 to fight juvenile “boots” Ennis at any time, unless Turki Alalshikh does not offer him a huge payment.
This is too hard a fight for Crawford, and which would make it hard if he decided to sit from the ring for another year after the clash with Canelo. Return at the age of 39 to fight Ennis, he would be a nightmare for Terenca. The loss of “shoes” will destroy his heritage, especially if it is a knockout.
