Andy Cruz complained today about the masters who “excuses to avoid” fight. In a mysterious post on Instagram, unbeaten that a lightweight mandatory claimant IBF Cruz (6-0, 3 KO) seemed to suggest that negotiations with IBF champion Raymond Muratall is not doing well.
Muratalla avoids Cruz IBF fighting?
Cruz and Muratalla reportedly talked about the fight on November 22 in Riyadh. This event was announced today, but the Muratalla-Cruz fight was not mentioned in the Turk’s post Alalshikha revealing the news.
It would not be a shock if Muratalla (23-0, 17 KO) decided to do a voluntary defense of his IBF title to get it once or twice before he ordered to defend himself against Cruz. His chances of defeating the talented golden medalist of the 2020 Cruz Olympic medalist would be slim.
Andy may have to forget about Muratalla for now and go in a different direction. Cruz ranks first with WBC for the belt that Shakur Stevenson holds. He should have some heat for fighting.
Their mutual promoter, Eddie Hearn, probably will not be consistent with this idea because he signed Stevenson to land in the fight of Geronta Davis. This is a fight that would bring millions. The last thing Hearn would like is Andy Cruz, who defeated Shakura, revealing him and ruining his chances of fighting Tank Davis.
“On the day I became the world champion, I will defend my title against who it is, because that’s what the masters are for – to defend them, no matter who it is,” said Andy Cruz on Instagram.
“These so -called masters are looking for excuses to avoid facing anyone and prefer to look for alternatives. Boxing is for fighters, not for names. Agreements sent to me, I will sign because I came to this country to fight anyone,” said Cruz.
Andy Cruz: Most avoided lightweight?
Many people perceive Cuban Cruz as a warrior No. 1 in a lightweight level, which is already avoided like a plague.
None of the so -called most significant names want any part of the fight against Cruz. Muratalla would be above his head on a qualified warrior like Andy. He is too good for his own. Even Shakur Stevenson, who claims to be the best at the age of 135, is not interested in fighting Andy Cruz. It’s understandable why.
